2011 goals:
BUMP! Frenchie made reference to where she’s at compared to her lifting goals for 2011 and it reminded me of this thread.
Now that we’re more than halfway through the year, how is everyone doing? I know there are a few ladies rehabbing some serious injuries, but how is everyone else? On track? Any goals achieved? Any new goals to add?
acheived: foam rolling, stretching and warming up as a habit.
squats: goal 225 from 185. reached 205lbs
bench: goal 160 from 150. reached 155
deads: goal 315 from 280. reached 305.
pullups: goal 5 unassited. haven’t focused on these one bit. will give them a try on Monday to see where I stand.
I’d say I’ve hit halfway point as planned.
not planning to add anything new. just focusing on finishing the race at this point.
My goals(were):
Improve physique-- eh, not really
Wear a bikini for the first time in my life!- nope, try again next year.
Maintain weight/pant size- YES!
Focus on strength(225 squat, 300+ DL, 100+ MP, at least 1 PULL UP!!!11!) :)— Hell nah
Stop neglecting the cardio side of the house-- working on it
go back to school-- working on it.
I had high hopes for this year…but with the depression, fatigue,(health related problems Im still working on) hubby being deployed and my daughter’s health issues; I’m proud to still be standing, somewhat sane, maintaining the previous years effort in body comp and having made it to the gym at least 3x week.
There is still time and room for improvement with the weight loss that I have been chasing. I’d be thrilled with 10 lbs by the end of the year!

I bumped the thread and then forgot about the goal part.
At the beginning of the year my goals were to hit 275/155/300 and to avoid injury.
squat 275: Current best is 265. Almost there.
bench 155: Coming along. I can bench 135 with a long pause, which is progress, but haven’t really gone over that.
dl 300: Currently at 275.
The chronic issues that usually mess me up haven’t kept me from doing anything yet.
If I were to add anything, I would say that rather than wanting to simply reach those goals, I hope to exceed them. I also have room for improvement with the preventative stuff to avoid injury.
Original Goals for 2011:

Raw - I did not do any Raw meets this year.
Squat 2.6 BW
Bench 1.5 BW
DL 2.5 BW
Single Ply - 1st Single ply meet in March 2011
Squat goal = 3.1 BW / Actual 2.8 BW = 450 lbs
Bench goal = 2.2 BW / Actual 2.0 BW = 325 lbs
DL goal = 2.6 BW / Actual 2.4 BW = 380 lbs
so didn’t really hit any of my set goals, still pretty please with my single ply meet and the numbers, still hanging out in the #4 slot for the time being on Powerlifting watch.

Last time I tested, in april, I could do 17. Historically, I have been able to add a pullup a month. So, if all goes well I should hit 25 by December.

Hmm. Have pulled 265 on two separate occasions, but recently missed it. But, this dream-goal is on hold for the pullups. Next year for sure.
4a DLS: I’ve pulled my start of the year DL max, 225, for reps x5. And in three more cycles, I get to beat that.
4b Squat: My squat 1 rep max has increased from 150 to 175. I haven’t work up to squatting 150 for reps yet, but I will before the end of the year.
4c Bench: My bench 1 rep max has increased from 100 to 115. And I’ve benched 100x6 so far.

Nowhere close. The beginning of the year was quite stressful (school inspection, professional assessments etc) and I just never got started on the diet. I am currently 158lbs - quite a long way from my original goal. However, the lowest I’ve been in recent years was 144lbs four years ago. I am making August the month I concentrate on recomping, but I won’t focus quite so much on weight, more on how I look and feel.
This just didn’t happen. Shoulder issues have prevented me from training chins at all. I also need to drop a lot of weight before I can do anything close to five chins - right now I don’t think I can do one.
I got the backward roll. Still working on the handstand - I can kick into one but not hold it. So there’s progress, but it’s not as fast as all that. I’ll keep working on it.
Again, I’ve not managed to get the splits yet but I’ll keep at it.
Tick. Did this in May. Unfortunately, the foot problem has stopped me from running for the past month or so, but I did make a lot of progress in the first half of the year and am proud of my achievement. Just hope I can get the foot thing sorted so I can start running again. (And that’s because I enjoy running).

Squat: 1.4x BW – YEP, hit 155 lb. a few months back
Bench: .9x BW – Nope . . . long way to go on this
DL: 2.1x BW – Nope, but hit 2x BW a month or so ago
Geared:
Squat: 1.8x bodyweight or more – YEP, hit 1.88x BW last week and more than 2x BW in the gym
Bench: 1x bodyweight – YEP, hit 1 lb. shy of this last week
DL: 2.3x bodyweight or more – CLOSE, hit 2.23x BW last week
15+ chinups – Egads. I haven’t done these in ages.
