Should I be taking my high GI carb before or after my protein post workout? Does it matter?
I mix mine together into 1 shake PWO. 25g maltodextrin (low GI), 25g dextrose (high GI) and 50g whey.
This has been a topic several hundred times. Search PWO shake and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
At the same time. You need the insulin spike to facilitate protein synthesis.

Maltodextrin has an extremely high GI. In fact, I think it’s somewhere in the 120’s. Although what you’re doing is great - having a 50/50 split of dextrose and maltodextrin. Very solid shake.
