Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome

Theres a bunch of smart guys here, so I figure I’d ask you all-

I did a cycle about a decade ago, and a few MAG-10 cycles after that… Nothing big. I followed all the textbook recommendations- 12 week, came off right, etc.

Ever since those days, though, I’ve suffered from post-orgasmic illness syndrome. It is a living hell. After ejaculating, I feel hot, have hot flashes, feel nearly retarded, have flulike chills and body aches and break out in a terrible rash. Oh, and extreme, extreme fatigue.

Now, even before I ever did a cycle, I experienced symptoms after orgasm, but most of them were mental, like fatigue and foggy head. Some hot flashes. But nothing like this.

I’m not even blaming the roads, but I do notice that my symptoms seem to have gotten worse after doing them.

Just curious- what kinds of things would you guys look into if you had similar symptoms? Any advice would be highly appreciated!

Go to a doctor

LOL

Bud, that’s part of the problem, I’ve gone to multiple docs and they all act like I’m crazy. They’ve tested my test levels and they’re normal, and simply want to put me on an antidepressant, even though I’m not depressed, only very fatigued after sex. I’ve recently decided I have to find a solution to this on my own because I get no help elsewhere.

Well you need to find a doc that wants to work with you. Most docs don’t give a shit. Did you try going to an endo?

If blood levels don’t show anything, it’s most likely psychological. If I were you I’d check with like 5 more doctors, if they all think there’s nothing wrong, see a psychiatrist.

Where do you live? Can you find a reproductive health facility near you?

Thanks for the tip Dr. Pangloss. I live in New Mexico but I can and would travel if you know of any places in this region that are good. I frequently travel to Tx because NM has very little resources outside of Albuquerque.

read the multi orgasmic man, try not to jizz so much and take a zinc pill after you do

(and obviously keep looking for a good doc)

I don’t know of an, but if I were in your shoes, I’d find a local one connected with a University or maybe a urology clinic. Start asking if they have anyone on staff who has experience and/or can recommend anyone. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral.

You have the clap or something similar.

I would see a psych/dr that specialises in sex therapy or sexual disorders, not a general practitioner. To have such a wide variety of non system related symptoms I’d be suggesting a psychological component (if not 100%) as well. It could be similar to anxiety (just as an example) whereby the mental symptoms create physical symptoms that amplify mental symptoms and vica verca.

Could be that there is a physical component that then triggers a psychological component and so on.

Just see a Dr that specialises in sexual issues. Get hormone panels, get some mental exercises to try.

When I was with my girlfriend I was madly in love with that’s how I was after sex. We ended up breaking up.

I agree with Ozzy you need to go see a psychiatrist/therapist. There is no shame in it man, I saw one for a couple years for PTSD. Remember taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. And yeah just like Ozzy said mental conditions can create physical symptoms.

Best of luck

I’d see an internist first, or preferably someone with experience in male reproductive health. A quick search of wiki shows that there is a hormonal component to the disease, as well as an autoimmune response. You may even wind up at a rheumatologist.
