Some of Poliquin’s training concepts are in line with what Paul Chek preaches. I’m pretty open minded to different approaches to training and nutrition, but some of what these trainers are advocating at times is just borderline absurded in my opinion. That, and some of the outrageous claims they make to. Charles claiming to have trained a female speedskater who made Tom Platz legs look like Woody Allens. Tom Platz arguably had the best legs in bodybuilding. I mean,c’mon!
The problem with Poliquin is people I know who have dealt with him do not think he is very ethical at the least. What else they have told me was a lot harsher. Money owed is a big issue.
I have met him once in 1998. That is my only dealings with him. Most here have read articles. My friends have had business dealings. Hence my opinion.
I don’t think this thread was intended to debate the merits of Charles Poliquin so much as it was to parody the religious thread. But even since the days when I was on board with Paul Chek, a dacade ago, I’ve thought Poliquin is gimmicky as hell. $5000 certs, biohormonal signature profiling or whatever, bragging about Adam Nelson’s gold medal when he didn’t even make him throw farther, shit tons of totally made up physiology, this guy has the biggest scam going IMO.

so lemme get this straight your nockin poliquin because he’s “gimmicky” and yet you act like you never have studied his methods, Im always a skeptic until i see facts and im seein them. lost 23 points on my sub scap in two weeks because due to this mans life work it came to my attention that im gluten intolerant. My mother has been having the worst pains in her stomach for the last few years, Leave it to doctors to say its acid reflux or IBS. luckily i had learned this knowledge from Mr Gimmick and passed it on to my mother who got tested for Celiac’s disease. Guess who changed My mothers life without even meeting her?
prolly not on Jesus’s level, but his nutritional info is awesome and really does change lives

Is this a joke? Jesus was a great trainer but he favored the lean cut look. That is why he invented CrossFit. And don’t get me started in the benefits of fish, he was 2000 years ahead of CP.
I see your point. “Crossfit”, huh…is that some kind of routine that integrates cross-training? I may indeed need to amend my initial statement. I guess you would add that the wine thing he was into proved that he also knew about the benefits of resveratrol (sp?). On the other hand, he produced loaves of bread. Too high-carb in my opinion.

The loaves of bread were for carb cycling.

Let’s not even talk about God, dude invented the Bulk and Cut, what do you think Lenten and Carnival, Advent, &C. are. You got Lenten to cut, and the rest of the year to bulk. Not a surprise that Lenten is right before ‘beach season.’
It is 40 days long, with cheat days every Sunday (on Squat day). Perfect for a fast cut like the V-Diet, even though I personally do not like it, I go for strict carbohydrate cycling.
