Guys holy cannoli! I read this article on another board and I was astounded! This is legit…and to boot this is not some schmuck saying it its Charles Poliquin!
I have a bridge to sell you too.
read it for yourself…
Heres the original article

The guy who posted that saying he gained 16lbs in 16 days is doing squats with 100lbs.
[/CASE]
16 lbs in 16 days, Im pretty sure he simple ate anything and everything and made sure not to shit before he weighed himself. mega dosing is fine, hell, I take 8 tbs of Fish oil a day, thats 104[ish] grams of the stuff a day, and it is helpful, but that weight gain is s-t-u-p-i-d.
if you want to gain 16 pounds in 16 days here is what you should try…
1.) lay down
2.) Eat donuts and brownies
3.) wash down with coke
4.) repeat steps 2/3 until you’ve reached desired weight.
Unless your taking so extra assistance with your program, 2 - 3lbs per month max of lean, unless you are freak.
Im going to go do some squats. peace
Im sorry but a 29lbs of LBM in a month from extra fishoil?
The guy was in the NFL or something like that, its not like he was new to training. I think someone is counting all weight gain as LBM, and then exaggerating by 50% or so.
I dont know, but he seems to talk about allot of insane progress like that.
all of Poliquin’s stuff seems exaggerated to me
I was not referring to his muscle gain but the results Poliquin got…

Same here… I agree that he knows his stuff and he has probably forgotten more than I will ever know, but I’ve heard him make some outrages claims before.
I emailed Poliquin about some more details about the athletes regimen, diet, workout etc…The thing is Poliquin has no reason to exaggerate…theres nothing in it for him…
Try it and start a log.
Im actually cutting right now…so prolly not…but heck its only about a dollar a day for one of you guys to try it…vitamin shopp lemon liquid fish oil is only a few bucks and will last your a week a piece…
First round NFL draft picks have great genetics and large frames. If this guy was a 300+ pound lineman coming off a serious injury or illness and was rebuilding lost muscle mass, 29 pounds of LBM in a month could happen.
I’m going with Iron Joe.
30 pounds of turkey could do the trick.
Heres an interesting post from T-Nation…
"My fat loss had stalled. So I gave the “mega dose” a try. Fat loss is accelerating like mad. I went from stalling to dropping 3 pounds in ten days. No other changes in diet or exercise.
I’m using between 24-36 grams of fish oil. This amounts to 4800-7200 grams of EPA and 3000-4500 grams of DHA."
Also an intersting thread…though not focused on weight gain or loss…

heres another guy…from 198 to 212 in a month…
Couple of things we need to consider:
1 - We are relying on self reporting, AKA Anecdotes. And the plural of anecdote is “anecdotes”, not “evidence”.
2 - Adding in 30 grams of fish oil a day is an additional 270 calories a day. Over the course of a month this would barely be 2 pounds.
3 - We cant assume that the ONLY thing they did was add 30g of fish oil… Perhaps they did and perhaps they didnt. They might have thrown in some extra food here and there to “get the effects” of the fish oil.
4 - The scale is very deceptive, you can have no water on board one day and then gain 5 pounds the next due to water and food in the sytem.
5 - Someone up above mentioned the rebound effect which might have accounted for some of the gain.
6 - And of course, weight gain does not mean LBM gain. and LBM gain does not mean MUSCLE gain, it takes into account glycogen, water, everything that isnt fat.
All-in-all I just cant see how that type of weight gain is possible in 30 days by simply adding in fish oil. I’m at about 15g/day myself and am definitely not blowing up like a balloon… Perhaps I need 15g more though.
Also, Cali Laws fat loss is very typical…3 pounds in 10 days is nothing to write an article about.
