Kroc’s never lifted in the IPF, unless I’m mistaken.
But I’d be impressed if he could cut 33lbs for a 2hr weigh-in and still live.

ohh thats right, i’d forgotten kroc did that for a 24 hour weigh in
Great suggestion, I think this would be even better for the men:
70kg,90kg,110kg,125kg,125kg+
5 classes.
That would be plenty. It is a nightmare to be a spectator or arrange a meet, so many classes, it takes so much time, and so repetitive!
As to old records and chasing them, who cares?
I understand the point of fewer classes, from a practical point of view it might not be a bad idea. It will suck for some lifters though and it will piss people off. I also don’t think their suggestion is very good, still quite a lot of classes and why make the heaviest class before SHW lighter?
Stallion, your suggestion doesn’t make sense. A 20kg step between 70 and 90kg but only a 15kg step from 110 to 125? I saw a pretty good suggestion on a swedish forum, 59-69-82-96-113-133-133+, 7 classes with an 18% increase between each.
Oh well, we have yet to see if these new classes will become reality or not.

He actually did compete in the USAPL during the earlier part of his powerlifting career.

Those of us who compete and stand a chance at breaking the records.
I don’t think anyone here was panicking about an imminent change in weight classes. We were all just expressing our opinions that the proposal is retarded. I believe most of the respondents here are IPF-affiliated lifters, and so they might have participated in the survey put out by the IPF asking for opinions on these changes.
