Possible Achilles Tendinitis...

It’s occured to me that I might have achilles tendinitis. I’m going to see my Sports Med guy in 2 or 3 weeks if it doesn’t get better. In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out what I can do in the short term so I don’t lose too much strength in my legs.

In my split workouts, I either squat (a) or deadlift (b) twice a week. (A-B-A) (B-A-B). Other than leg extensions and leg curls, which I hate doing, can you guys think of anything else I can do while without putting pressure on my leg?

On my off days, I jump rope, run or do jumping jacks between medicine ball circuits. Obviously those are out, so should I just double the medicine ball work? Any ideas other than swimming since I dont have access to a pool?

Thanks in advance for you advice,
-I

I’d lay off all leg exercies for a few days. The last thing you want to do it tear your achillies.

If it doesn’t get beter, see the doc.

Anything where you are pushing your toe down, plantar flexion you will be stretching the tendon and could cause a sprain or potential tear.

Going on 2 weeks off and it feels better already - think off staying off for a while before I take it for a test drive.
