Poliquin, nuff said.[/quote]

I know of two people that were in therapy directly due to a screw job courtesy of Poliquin. By screw job, I mean screwed out of money. He has a very bad business reputation with certain people.

Rumor also has it that he had some issues staying in the USA.

Only a fellow hammer thrower would say such a thing…
and it’s damn good choice.

If talking elite athletes, Joe DeFranco’s name should be on that list in my opinion.

I can’t believe Jared Fogle isn’t up there.

The guy trained himself to go from fat to the amazing physique you see on Subway commercials.

Well, if I had to vote, I’d go with the guy I’m working with now, CT; BUT you also have to remember that your results are only going to be as good as your effort in the gym, and I have had my own motivational issues myself.

The trainee’s lack of effort shouldn’t negatively effect the coach’s ability.

Hands down it would be John Basedow.

WAIT!!! Why the hell was JB left out of that list? He helped million get “toned”.

Fred Hatfield and Dan Gasteleu must get an honorable mention.

Ok on a serious note I’d have to go with the Master Blaster himself. Either him or Chuck Norris (inventor and mastertrainer on the amazing Total Gym).

I threw in the other names and Gray Cook, just for the fun of it.

Save it Cali-fag. Implying my knowledge of coaches is limited to a website makes you look like an arrogant idiot.

This is a hypothetical question for the sake of a poll… not to advertise all the other trainers I know and have worked with.

fantastic idea introducing the realm of fantasy and make believe into the world of bodybuilding strength etc, which is too reality-based/serious anyway.
what springs to mind immediately is good old fashioned role play games. except with a twist - it would be jocks playing instead of geeks.

how about this right : Mighty Morphin Power Lifters… The Gathering!
the game could revolve around coaches facing off in yu-gi-oh or top trumps style, unleashing special moves like Unilateral Unicorn or Bosu Ball Barrage, and we could do swapsies in the locker rooms instead of towel whipping.

I think from an athletic stand point Chad Waterbury and CT both have some real strong points.

Joe DeFranco would also be a really good contender for a sport specific coach.

I think Dave Tate and Justin Harris would be a kick ass coaches also.

‘Here’s the criteria… If you wanted to look GREAT, play a sport at an elite level, and you wanted to be freaky strong and avoid injury. Who would you choose???’

For what it’s worth, I’ll answer the above question – Eric Cressey.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Eric, and not only did I learn a great deal from him directly, but he also helped me set a deadlift PR, motivated me to take up powerlifting (which I’m now addicted to…), and through his character and general demanour, inspired me. All in the space of less than 48 hours.

In fact, I am turning to him now and will continue to do so in the future to realize my goals.

Can’t decide between Louie, Rippetoe and Cressey + Robertson for their awesome mobility content.

CT

ayotte and roy are right here in st. louis working with world-renowned chiropractor clayton skaggs. if i’m not mistaken they have worked with the majority of the st. louis blues. i’m not voting for anyone, just throwing out the chiropractic plug.

Easy, Thibs. Accomplished Oly lifter and bodybuilder. What more do you want.
