Poliquin Bio-signature

Out of curiosity how much worth of supplements does biosignature typically recommend per month?

cant really answer this, for me i really only use poliquin HCL, zinc and mag. so not too much. I did use the poliquin DIM and Cal-d in high doses for about 6 weeks about a year ago which was atleast $300 for the 6 weeks.

depends on your needs and if you can find a similar product in your health food store/online

i have decided to retire from olympic weightlifting. i just dont think im build for the sport.

I will keep my up-dates coming as a develop a plan that more closely resembles working out to look and feel good as opposed to pure strength.

any Poliquin guys out there on this forum that can point me to a good weight program that i can follow. I haven’t done traditional strength or bodybuilding training for 6 years now.

If you’re looking to put on some size you may want to check out some of Poliquin’s stuff on Advanced German Volume training. I took the idea and altered my current program to include it. It actually has worked very well. Actually helped me bring up some weak points.

thanks man! however, i really dont think i can handle GVT right at this moment as my knee is still not 100% from past injuries and i have been only doing sets of 1-5 for a VERY LONG time.

I think im going to try the german body comp for athletes program from poliquins site (cant post the link here)

Its still high volume (10-15 reps) but only 3-5 sets/exercise. Im sure ill feel like dieing the first few weeks, but it just seems slightly more reasonable then GVT

Oh I was talking about his advanced GVT. You can find the protocol on his site. I used some of the principals mixed into my workout (I steal from everywhere haha). Sets are all under 5 reps for main lifts. It’s on Poliquin’s site if you search for it. Main idea is 10x5 week 1, 10x4 week 2, 10x3 week 3, repeat 3 weeks. On his site he details how to progress.

Actually that looks AWESOME! thanks for they post, Im enjoying the german body comp for athletes so far although im only in the gym for 1 hour including warm up, im working REALLY hard imo. gonna throw in some sprints on one of the off days and see how this can re-comp my body. got skin folds done today and will again in another 5 weeks when i finish the 6 week program.

after that I plan to start the advanced GVT, looks hard but great.

One other question for you (or anyone really), on the German body comp for athletes program, Ai on Friday is 10/6 for snatch dead lifts from the podium. now my back is already very strong, and I would prefer to target the legs over the back/posterior chain, do you think it would be ok to do back squats instead? they work similar muscles, but back squat would obviously target my weakness more then the deads…

any adverse effects from the high dose zinc from the earlier pages? were you running copper too? positive effects?

actually, at one point, i didnt see the point in using the poluquin brand so i used chelated zinc, and i got twitchy, it was crazy. I then switched back to using poliquin for half my zinc and the other half came from AORs “zinc-copper balance”

I took polinquin’s zinc tester today. There was a delay in taste. It wasn’t a strong taste, and it tasted like sand more than metallic. I wonder how much zinc I should dose. According to this article www.charlespoliquin.com/ArticlesMultimedia/Articles/Article/758/ Stay_Healthy_Vitamins_101.aspx
it’s 2 caps 3x a day for 8 weeks, but that if it taste like water, severely deficient.

im thinking about trying to have a morning drink of 15g ground fenugreek seeds+15g ground flax seeds with a dropper of liquid chlorophyll in water. I know poliquin recomends this to help improve insulin health.

does anyone know if there is an issue with fenugreek with men?

I know some females will use it to help enlarge there breasts or increase milk production after child birth. would it possibly have similar effects in a male?

thanks Alex, helps ease my mind that I wont grow boobs.

ya I already smell like maple syrup. Not a bad thing, just odd haha. By the way, that drink tastes absolutely terrible haha

hey guys, just got back from my biosignature dude.

I have actually gained 2lbs from the start of the german body comp for athletes program (5.5 weeks ago) and have 2 workouts left to finish.

the great thing is that even though i gained weight, ALL of my skinfolds are the lowest they have ever been taken at! I think my triceps are the same skinfold but most others are down significantly.

Will up-date with the actual numbers once he emails them to me.

My strength also increases fairly nicely for a program not focused on pure strength, and my recovery between sets was noticeably improved.

Overall, very happy with my progress and with the program.

ok, the results are in. And im thrilled.

In 6 weeks i went from 204 and 18.1% bodyfat to 208 and 16.2% bodyfat!

im still not as lean is i would like, but to drop 2% and gain 4lbs is awesome. so that’s gain of 8.4lbs of fat free mass and a loss of 4.4lbs of fat mass if my calculations are correct.

worked my ass off, nearly puking after the workout at least 4 times during the 6 weeks

P.S. all 12 sites are down except for subscap and cheek which are exactly the same.

going to start Advanced German Volume training on Sunday with a few friends.

Im going to keep the diet exactly the same except instead of having a carb-up meal every 7 days, I will have it every 5 days, on the day I do the leg training (which are every 5 days)

if I have my leg workout in mid afternoon, should have my carb up an hour after the lift, or should i hold off until my last meal of the day?

thanks

So how you meal plan look like, do you know macros and how much carbs on cheat day?

[quote]sportnik12 wrote:

I dont really count macros, I just make sure each meal has a high amount of protein, good healthy fats and unless im having my cheat MEAL, under 10g of carbs (usually pretty close to 0)

Wake up: 15g of fiber (rotate between psylium, flax seed, chia seed) a tbs of apple cider vinagar, and 15g of a greens powder.

breakfast: good portion of fatty meat (usually beef, buffalo, salmon) and a handful of nuts, or a heaping tablespoon of almond butter.

snack: 2 tins of sardines, a big bowl of spinach, olive oil.

Lunch: another large portion of meat (turkey, chicken, steak, what ever i have/feel like), LOTS of broccoli, coconut oil.

Snack: smaller proton of turkey (or what ever i have avalable) more veggies, oils.

Dinner: big proton of meat, more veggies, more oil.

bedtime: 15g of fiber, apple cider vinegar.

I also take a multi (6 caps/day) and between 3-10g of fish oil/day and zinc, magnessium and 2 HCL caps at my 3 largest meals.

for my cheat, or carb-up meal, i USUALLY just add as much yams, quinoa etc… as I want, or if i go out i just make sure i have starchy carbs and finish it all.

ask if you have any more questions.

And how look your PWO shake? So carb up every 7 day. As i saw on previous pages, you say that you did’t performance well and also feel tired because you not consume any carbs. So what you change consumer more food or just because you change principle of trening?
