'Please Don't Get Too Big'

I haven’t read this thread, but I just wanted to say something.

If your girlfriend/spouse tells you, “you are big enough for her” or that you are “just the right size” or other guys are “too big” she is lying to make you feel better.

Ever since I got home from college my mom has been bugging me that I need to bulk up. I am about 6’1’', 235 lbs at about 12% bf. Maybe I should just listen to her even though I’m satisfied with my weight right now for next season.

wow…just wow

I hate that ppl just call me fat or thick, i was 125 9 months ago i’m 167 at 5’7’’ and everybody i know tells me 'oh you’re fine that way, don’t get any bigger, blah, blah, blah.

Just until they see me at 200

I’ve been “getting too big” for the last 100lbs of body weight. I guess one of these days I will finally hit “too big”.

I think you’ve said before that what women say they like (appearence wise in men) and what they actually prefer when it is right in front of them is two different things.

They will always say “don’t get too big”, but when you get bigger they say “well you look good now, just dont get any bigger” i think even if they think you are too big already, most people wouldn’t tell you.

I remember once on one of those crappy reality shows (where they serperate couples to get them to cheat on each other).
They got the girls to rate guys from best looking to least. There was one real jacked up guy, and of course all the girls picked him as their favorite.
One of the other guys was so surprised because his girlfriend always told him she didnt like big guys, she just said “he isn’t too big” hahaha the guy was HUGE!

Yeah, but was he FUNCTIONAL? I bet he couldn’t do hurdles while swinging a 7.5-lb kettle bell after an intense set of bosu jumping-jacks.

it was more about having that weight on top of her in bed.

I think women are engineered to be able to take that sort of thing. They’re very durable.

They are. I’m an engineer and I also weigh 2x (+a few pounds) more then my girl. I’ve thoroughly tested that out…jsut make sure your girl doesn’t have osteoporosis.
She lifts weights too. More than most of the men at the gym. She had a dexa scan and was well toward the upper tail of the bone density distribution for her age

LOL Ditto.

Lot more doggy and a lot less missionary is what you end up with.
well, not to doubt you X, but even when you hit 400lbs. that’s still not “too big” (I know you won’t think so anyway…)

Haha LIVE781 your avatar LOL

I want to eat the bitches. Makes my mouth water … The burgers that is.

I hear something along the lines of that maybe once every couple of weeks, or a month from my wife. “You don’t need to get any bigger. You just need to tone.”

I hear a little bit from my parents, who most likely think I’m extremely overweight. I do weight 250 at 20-35% bf, so they do have a small point.

ummmm…20-35% body fat is NOT a range!!!

that’s like saying i can bench between 250-400.

not hating…just made me laugh when i read that.
lol

Yeah that is pretty funny. My bad. I meant 25-30, which is probably meaningless at this point.

One time she found a set of Richard Simmons motivational tapes that my friends had given to me as a gag. They were with some other crap at home and I was away at college. She called me up to make sure I wasn’t depressed about my body.
HAHAHAHAHHA! That’s AWESOME!! lol

haha in a way it’s good that we’re all in the same boat, meaning we have progressed well over the years.

When I have family dinners with my cousins and uncles for whatever holidays like Christmas, Chinese New Yrs etc… Each time I see them, they tell me to stop working out because I’m getting to “big” and ask if I wanted to be like Arnold and I’ll say hell yeah!

On my father’s side of the family, I haven’t seen some of them for 3 yrs, so during the recent xmas dinner, when they saw me they just gasped, like holy shit what happened to you.

With my high school/college friends, its more of the same but more with positive compliments.

In no way I come close to “big” compared to MOST of you guys here. In my avatar pic that was taken early last year, I’m 5’9 and was about 150lb, but now around 170. 200 here I come!

Good stuff dude, but damn, pull up your pants.

I’m 183 this morning… @ 5’11 or so… and about 10 - 12% BF or “a skinny fucker” according to PMPM  and my mum gives me the ‘don’t get to big’ song and dance as well… My 2009 goal is to reach 200lbs… and not be over 15% BF… so we’ll see…

My wife is the same, she always tells me to not get any bigger. Or accuses me of taking steroids and threatens to leave me if I am!! I usually just laugh at her and go make a shake!

She also gets mad when I’m cooking ground beef, steaks, chickin for my lunches bc I am not making her and my sons lunches too…I’m so selfish! I guess I’m missing something about her being home all day with the kiddo while I’m stuck in the office and don’t have time to leave for lunch. I just tell her to help herself to my plain ground beef and sweet potatoes…she says yuck. Lol, guess you just can’t win those battles.
Personally I kinda agree with X… I can understand the wife being pissed off… but man… I wouldn’t let ANYONE talk to me that way… or accuse me of being selfish etc… There’s the door… the end… I pick and choose my battles… but I just don’t think anyone has to eat shit from anyone else… Threatening to leave you… based on unfounded shit?? I guess… if it didn’t really bother you that much or I’m reading into it too much… I apologize… but she sounds pretty harsh… I mean Christ… she’s at home all day and is pissed off that you aren’t making her and your son meals?? Pffff…

My mom always have me the too big shit when I was 215 @ 30% bodyfat.

Now, I’m 190 @ 20% bodyfat and she’s telling me I’m too skinny and I “look better with some weight”.

Plus, whenever she finds me watching bodybuilding vids of Arnold or whoever she says “eww that’s gross. You don’t want to look like that do you?” I say no of course, but I’m thinking yes.

It is funny, most girlfriends say they don’t like big guys… My bro’s ex said the same thing, and then we were all watching TV and these shirtless jacked up guys appeared, she was like “wow they are hot!”. My other friends gf’s say the same thing, we know it’s all BS. All women like men jacked up and big, they wouldn’t want to sleep with a guy that looked skinnier than them!

That’s funny! I laughed out loud on that one. I think that would be an infinite regress.
