I can relate to that, becuase i am the same height and i was the same weight about 2 years ago. I got stuck at 185x3 on my bench and i thought i plateud, but i was definately wrong. So after i worked on my diet I advanced in my bench, so i am just suggesting you work on your diet, because really dude, people plateu at 285 not at 185.
There is no set weight at what you HAVE to plateau at. I agree a better diet will help a lot, but thats not the reason I get stuck in the middle of the lift on the way back up. Its because of my triceps are weaker than my chest.

You get past plateu’s by not being a little bitch, try it.

Here’s what I suggest: for two weeks, stop doing flat barbell bench. Instead, do bodyweight dips and then flat dumbell bench. Dips first because you need tricep strength. You will get stronger.

HAHAHAHA!! now that thats over with, Eat mother fucker, gain weight and your bench will go up, I know thats what I did and my bench took off.
Start doing close grip bench, and widen your grip on flat bench so as to use more chest than triceps. The close grips will build ur tri’s nicely. I got stuck at repping 230x8 for 3 sets, started doing close grips and widened my grip a little and within 3 weeks I’m now repping 235 4sets of 8 easily.
185 is a slight plateau for you, I remember being stuck at like 190 back in like my soph year of H.S, but I changed programs up and changed my rep ranges up and I broke it, no problem. What also helped me when I was stuck was to eat more complex carbs on the day I had bench leading up to the actual workout. And make sure your post workout meal/shake is in order, no sense in doing all that hard work and blowing it with poor PWO nutrition.

Work on your technique. You will be surprised at exactly how much you will suddenly be able to bench once you learn how to do it correctly.
