I see “The Over 35 Lifter” thread is back in action. I decided to go back to my thread and re-activate it hopefully. I will continue to post here & on “HT’s What the Hell AM I Doing” thread in “Strength Sports.”
Heat and humidity here in S. Jersey yesterday & today, beat the snot outta me. No workout except for pull-ups and taking dogs for walk right before dusk when it’s slightly cooler.

We can entertain each other on both posts. The week off made me a mad man. I DLed before my trip, I hurt Shoney’s buffet HT style and I’m ready to go back to the gym tonight after a 5 hour drive. I’m going back there tomorrow where I told u guys I was a couple of weeks ago. I’m bringing a 275+ attitude and it’s goin’ to be ugly but very AMERICAN. Train hard.
The crew would have been proud of the Missouri Mule tonight. Don’t judge and don’t judge the book by its cover. Train hard, if you can’t find a door, f… make one.
Hard, hot week at work left little energy for training. Am off Sat/Sun, will try to make-up a little lost ground…will squat, BP, & DL over the 2 days>
My friend HT has reached a milestone in life…which road do i take? Only he knows the answer. My hopes and prayers are with him.
Have had a badly infected abcess in my groin/ass area. 103 fever and had it opened up by a surgeon on Tuesday. No training this week until maybe Sat/Sun.

art, we are seeing an epidemic of staff-skin infections/abscesses in the ED last year or so. i see at least one that has to be opened up and drained, as well as iv antibiotics EVERY 12 hour shift i work.

I haven’t been posting much as I’m not doing much of anything as my abcess is healing. Until it is fully closed, the surgeon begged me not to lift, get it too sweaty or dirty until it closes fully…this thing scared me good & plenty so I’m respecting his wishes.
I did sneak in a BP workout earlier this week, but my head wasn’t in it BUT the workout was physically easy. Today is Friday, and I will try to get in another BP workout maybe in the 90%+ range. If the incision closes, I am dying to do a SQ and/or DL workout this weekend sometime.
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer…
QT, be sure to take some probiotics after the antibiotics. My friends at Nutraceutics just launched some, you must replace the good bacteria.

Great suggestion!!! Something I never ever thought about! That is why I love this group so much! Different ideas, suggestions, experiences, etc amke us all the better for each other’s input!
Seems every time I think I’m going to get more consistent, unexpected things take priority over my workouts of late. Even the weather seems to be against me. Whether it is 5:30am or 9:30pm, the humidity has been close to 100% these last seven days.
I have to change my T-shirt 2-3 times within the same workout & I have to worry about staying wary of keeping hydrated. Still looking forwars to the USAPL NJ States at Rob Wagner’s Gym in late January, 2008.
