Doesn’t that make sense? assuming you aren’t trying to lose weight, pizza seems like it would be pretty good. Got your carbs, protein, fats, and even some vegetables on there if you want.
I’m over in Italy so this is a better kind of pizza than back home in the U.S., probably getting a good share of olive oil in there too. I’m just trying to justify some thoughts…make sense??
Me and and two other guys I used to train with would do that every couple of weeks…walk into a CiCi’s pizza and stay until we pissed off the guy making the pizzas. You know the job is done when he looks like he’s going to quit.
I have my normal post-workout meal and use pizza as an accessory after my regular meal if I want. For example, I make the decision whether or not I take in some pizza and milk if I’m unusually hungry after my regular meal or if I really had an unusually grueling session.
In other words, if you’re puttin in the hard work, definitely eat some pizza to keep the growth up. Pizza isn’t something I abuse post-workout but something that can help after my normal meal.
If you are happy with your body composition, then you don’t have to follow the same rules as those who are trying to lean up.
Pizza is fine. Sure there are some who would say that the fat in the cheese and oil will diminish the rate of glucose and amino acid uptake into your muscle cells, but the pizza strategy has its own merits.
You will have a full belly of carbs, fat and protein for your body to use for repair for several hours following your workout.
Ronnie Coleman doesn’t drink post-workout drinks, he eats steak or chicken and things like rice, beans, potatoes and cornbread.
thanks a lot guys that’s exactly what i was lookin for. the place by my house ran out of roast chicken and potatoes so i had to go for 2nd best choice. bulking is what I’m looking for too…
it can be rough keepin up the weight lifting life in Italy, it’s not really something they’re into…at all. it’s fun finally bein the “big guy” in the gym somewhere.

Nice, Prof, nice. A CiCi’s just opened up in my town not too long ago. I’ve hit it up a few times after a workout.
During my bulk, which began last June and ended about 4 weeks ago, I ate a PWO pizza with extra cheese after every training session as well as taking in my litre of peri-workout chocolate milk.
I put on 70lbs and since I’ve toned cheat meals down to once a week I’m beginning to see my abs fairly clearly again.

Prof,
I just recently heard about/saw an advertisement for CiCi’s pizza. Is it true there’s unlimited pizza and desserts for $5.00?
This fantastic sounding claim is made in the commercial, but I find it hard to believe until I see it.
The closest CiCi’s to me is about 100 miles away, which literally almost makes it worth driving to for unlimited pizza. Almost…

Yes, it’s true. It is a broke college student bodybuilder’s dream restaurant. They make whatever pizza you want…unless you actually keep eating all of them and they get tired of making more. I’m serious, grab two or three other relatively large friends and wreck shit.

I never heard of it but it sounds awesome. I think I am going to hit the all you can eat $ 6.95 pizza, stromboli and chicken wing buffet tomorrow night.

It’s actually pretty good. It’s just a buffet style pizza place with a salad bar. They even have dessert pizzas. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to one, but I think it’s 3.95 per person. They also deliver for like 4 or 5 bucks per pizza, but that kind of defeats the point.
Everyday for my first 2 meals I stay at the local pizza buffet in town, its a great source of protein and carbs and I put on 30LBS of muscle in the last 4 months. Don’t be jealous guys!
My girl is a manager at Papa Johns. Almost everynight she makes me a Large thin crust with Extra Extra Chicken and thats it. Well, besides cheese and sauce. Lots of protein, carbs and overall decent calories for my main post workout meal.
