Pizza Goodies and Progress?

Someone please tell me how/why eating pizza can thwart the progress of bodybuilding, if it does. And lets assume for the sake of this question that a this 160 lb person is eating 2 slices of italian sauasage pizza a day.

Pizza > insert anything here

Pizza may not fit into someones macro break down for the day. Maybe having too much fat and/or carbs and not enough protein to justify eating it.

If it does fit into your macro and caloric goals, eat it.

see, im using pizza as an example to a bigger topic: nutrition

btw, im in the phase of just getting bigger, not concerned with losing fat that kind of stuff.

to me, nutrition is all about getting all the macros in, and eating clean all the way would probably emphasize probably be the optimal way to gain muscle, however I dont see nutrition is all that important and a person who eats more than enough to gain muscle/weight, eats more than enough “high quality” protein, takes multis, eats his veggies from time to time can make any less muscular gain than someone who does the same thing, but eats “cleanly”

eat it after a workout to spike insulin if you must.

However, the question as you phrased it seems to be asking “is there any way a skinny dude can justify eating shit daily and still build an awesome physique?”

Sack up man. No one got where they wanted without making any sacrifices. Eat as clean as you can most of the week and then treat yourself to some pizza once or twice during the week.

Skinny/ectomorph? No, just short 5’6. I’m interested what you define as “shit” cuz that sounds like your perception of certain foods is biased by the news, people, etc and not based on actually the macronutrients it contains

If by bodybuilding you mean building a lean, muscular frame then a constant stream of pizza will lead to a layer of adipose over the top of your lean mass. Ask any pro bodybuilder if he would eat pizza every day and have the vascularity and definition it takes.

You should be more clear about bodybuilding…sure eat pizza if you’re trying to gain mass!

pizza contains a high amount of saturated fat and starchy white carbs. Both are arguably physique killers that can lead to insulin resistance and are big contributors as to why America is so damn fat.

If you want to talk macronutrient balance, eat the exact same carbs, fats, and protein from chicken breast seasoned with EVOO and spices and brown rice.

Will pizza every once in a while kill your physique? Nope, but eating 2 pieces a day just isn’t a smart move, no matter how you slice it. get it, GET IT?!? im a riot.

Hhmmmmm…insulin resistance, care to expound your knowledge on that?

If you need the help to reach your caloric goals, there’s nothing wrong with it. Is a clean bulk better? Yes. Is it always viable? No. So utilizing things like pizza and hamburgers will help you, but it isn’t carte blanche to eat twinkies, donuts, and sugary crap just to meet your calories. Naturally skinner guys (re hardgainers) can be a bit more free with foods like pizza and burgers than a fatter guy can. Keep that in mind.

Contrary to what a lot of the sub 200 guys will tell you, you’re gonna have to blur that ab line, maybe a little, maybe more than a little. I personally try to take advice from some of the bigger guys, as the smaller guys seem to have all the answers, but none of the pounds.

Oh and imo chicken is more of a cutting food, beef is your friend.
