haha wont be for another week but ill be posting on here regularly so the bad boy doesnt die

pipes where in jersey are you from?? just curious, if ur near by we should get a deadlift or squat day in together! just a random thought haha

whats goin on guys…well my liftin schedule got a little messed up this week but no biggie…im home now thank god! so ill be working out at my gym tonight!! ill be doing tricep work with the boards tonight…probably the last week of week of using them…i slowly start taking exercises out of my workout schedule as i get closer to the comp…alot of my accessory works will begin to get dropped next week or atleast less of it…tomorrow mornin ill be going to my gym to do deadlifts! definitely pumped about that!! ill be back later tonight to post my workout…when i home i usually dont workout til 630ish…

yoooo whats up…whered everyone go?? haha…anyway…yesterday i did some tri work with boards, nothing to special, finished with 405 x 3 off a 6 board…but this morning i did Deadlifts/back, and had a killer workout…here it is…

Deadlifts
w.u sets…
315 x 2
365 x 1
405 x 1
440 x 1
450 x 1…all pretty easy…i slowed down a little bit on the 450 but it was definitely a real strong solid pull, very happy with how it came off the floor

Rack Pulls
405 x 10 for 2 sets

Back Attack Machine…kinda like a GHR meets a Reverse Hyper, cant really explain it but its bad ass and it destroys you haha
100 x 10 for 2 sets

Pull Ups S.S Hammer Curls
BW x 12 for 2 sets
45 x 8 for 2 sets

that was it…deadlifts were great today, i reallly felt good, and im feelin pretty confident with all 3 of my lifts…2 more week of training left, than the meet…startin to get a bit anxious thinkin about it, but thats a good thing…

On a side note…THE BEST heavy deadlift song, is Warzone by Slayer, it makes me wanna run through a fuckin wall, i love it = )

Looked like an awesome workout! deadlifts and rack pulls looked good! wish i had a reverse hyper @ my gym… The pull ups and hammer curls ss looked awesome i gotta try that. keep going at it man. You should really get video or at least pictures of your meet!

Ok so its been like a week, couldnt get on here, shits soo gay at home haha. Ironwarrior Im glad to see you kept this thread alive without my presence, and I live in the South Jersey Part.

Im 20 min west of Atlantic City if thats any where close to you. Looking strong, im guessin this week or next is your off week going into your competition?

ahhh damn, im alllll the way up in northern jersey, about 10 minutes from Giants Stadium…but yea, my lifts are feeling real good…this week coming up is gonna be a HUGE weak for me…

sat down with one of the guys that i train wtih, who is the world record holder with the bench press…800lb in3 weight class…700 lbs in 4 weight classes…also a 800 squat…660 dead…he has also done 3 bodybuilding shows…

the guy is just an animal and knows everything in the world about lifting haha…anyway, i sat down with him, and we broke down what my week is gonna consist of…got some real big numbers ill be looking to hit…the following week will be a De-Load week…

than a week offf…than the comp…haha as i said, big numbers this week, i have them on a paper right next to me but im not sure if im willing to share them!! if i dont hit them for some reason i will feel like a failure haha…he wants me to hit a HUGE number for squats this tuesday…

more than ever have ever been under in my life…but im looking forward to it…that shit is definitely gonna try and crush me, but fuck it, i wont let it = )…

heyy whats up guys…im super bored today…been waiting around to go to the gym at 530…i coudlnt take the boredum anymore, so i knew T-Natoin and this thread would be here for me! haha…ive been playin Call Of Duty 4 on 360 pretty much all day long…what a sick game, i love it! haha…as i sit and play, i eat some steak and rice and what not…o yea, and i have Metallica playing as well, its just such great music to have on when your blowing shit up and shooting guns haha…anyway, im gonna go make a mix for the gym today on my ipod…

deload week is next week, this is my last real heavy week…my workout today just pissed me off, i legit suck balls at bench pressing…blew up 300 x 1…slapped 315 on and stauled half way up twice…i think i may have peaked too soon on bench?? i dont know…but hey, ive only been in this powerlifting sport for about 9 months, im still a rookie and trying to find out what works, what doesnt, and all that shit…and in the end, squat and deadlift are the TRUE bad ass lifts!! and doing it completely raw makes it more bad ass haha…after my 315 failure i repped out 225 for 12 just to feel better…i probably could have done 15, but its all good…

anyway, tomorrow is gonna be serious squat day…im so anxious to get in the gym and do squats…as i said, im looking for some big weights tomorrow…squats and deads are where im gifted most in, so i gotta step up to the challenge tomorrow and blow shit up…i just have to put this workout behind me, sleep on it, wake up, and its a whole new day, and best of all, its “squat day”…

MMMMM SQUAT DAY!!..speaking of legs. Ironwarrior I did some cardio yesterday, holy shit. I have not had such a leg workout in soo goddam long! My quads and hammies were sore from the instant I finished my run, and I was cramping all night it was just terriblem but it was a good burn.

Next monday I start in my commercial gym, but got a barbell amd plenty of weights to hold me over in the garage. Great mix man, it will blow your squat day up !!

good luck Ill talk to you guys tomorrow…BTW…me and my buddy took a road trip up to the white castle in north jersey last night, didnt get home till 7:30 this morning. shit was nuts, stopped off at rutgers on the way home…NUTS! you anywhere near that white castle/piscataway?

hahaha if it was the White Castle on Rt. 17 than thats about 2 minutes from my house!! haha…but yea im about 30 minutes from Rutgers, my bro is actually looking to go their to play Lacrosse or possibly football, hes gotta see how much money they will give him…

nice!! yeah dude that was deffinitely the one I went to, me and my buddy split a crave case and went at it at like 2 in the goddam morning when we finally got up there haha…talk about falling off the dietary wagon…lol. Speaking of which, I did that workout in the Lose the last 10 lbs. workour in that new article today for shits and giggles cause i got 2 months till my comp, and that shit was no joke, SERIOUSLY! good luck on squatting and post some big numbers

i felt fuckin great today, i blew up every single lift, especially the last one with 455, i was so pumped for it, it felt great! i think ill be shooting for 500lbs at the meet, but we will see how it goes! all in all, it was absolutely kick ass day! my next workout isnt til friday which ill be doing deadlifts!

Pipes- I know what you mean about the legs. I could squat a lot and not be that sore but when I run holy shit! haha

By the way guys I have a question… Let’s say I stall on my bench routine and I want to max. Should I go straight to a deload week the next week after stalling then max after deloading??? or after stalling do I max out the week after that?? I want to know what works best for you guys. Also after I get my bench goal of 300, do you guys recommend smolov to improve my squat???

Just asking some questions to the more experienced guys! thanks.

hmm…alcoubano, ur situation in the bench is super similiar to mine, but in all honesty, i think the solution is very individual! thats one of those things you need to figure out on your own and what works for you…BUT…i think you should do just that, deload, than max out, thats pretty much what i am doing, and what the guys i work out do also when preparing for a competition…

As for Smolov, to be quite honest, im not to familiar with it! maybe Pipes knows more…i did that DoggCrapp training for awhile, im pretty sure thats what it was called? and it worked great! but best of luck to you and your 300 bench, im sure you will smoke it

In agreement with ironwarrior i think your best bet would be to approach your max out right now if stalling as a competition, deload then max then off. Your prob just adapting the program alot quicker than anticipated (which is a GOOD thing) and got all the results you can get out of it. So I guess for that max youll be straight then mix it up, and i have a feeling smolov would work pretty good, beings as it probably is VERY different from most people usual rep schemes

thanks for the advice guys. I’m looking to get 300 in a month or so. And whenever I do I’ll just maintain my bench and work squat with smolov until I hit my goal which is now 405 haha, then work on deadlift.

by the way what would you guys do for maintaining a certain lifts max such as bench?
