Hey, I am doing an presentation on nutrition through the lifespan and focusing on 50yr old women. I was just wondering if anyone had some pics of fit looking 50 or so year old women, I would love to show these people what 50 can look like if you take care of yourself!

I turned 50 in May (actually a few days before you made this post). I’m sure I’m too late for your presentation, but thought I’d post anyway.
I know genetics have been kind to me, because I’ve always been slim, but I keep a sunny outlook on life, stay active, and truly believe the mind can influence the body, and you are what you eat.
I’ve never had any plastic surgery, and I have always taken excellent care of my skin. I’ve been cooking since I was 14 because my mother died. My dad grew up on a farm during the depression, so he instilled a real sense of eating healthy to me since he always grew vegetables, and the focus in our house was on canning and stocking food in the freezer.
I’ve always cooked for men (Dad, brother, son, and a few husbands). It wouldn’t occur to me to eat rabbit food because I love to cook, and love to eat even more!
I walk here a LOT. I don’t drive in England, so most of my walks include carrying home sacks of groceries or other heavy stuff. Eight years of this has kept me pretty fit. When I moved to England, I was 42, and at 45, through a lucky fluke, I started modeling. I also paint, and work from home as an administrator for a large US based website.
I wasn’t as active as I wanted to be, and when I started noticing the first stages of ‘Bingo Wings’, I figured it was all downhill from there, because knowing how to pose can only take you so far. That’s when I decided to launch my ‘after 50 plan’. I started swimming laps at the local fitness pool. I’ve stayed with it for over six months now, and have benefited greatly from this routine.
I decided to enhance this with going to the gym, so I’ve been at that for about three weeks now. I’m already seeing some little muscles popping up, and it’s really giving me more strength in the pool.
I’ve always taken care of myself, and will continue to do so, not only because I love being mistaken for younger, but I want to keep modeling. I’ve worked with over 100 photographers in the last 5 years, and would like to continue as long as I can ride the wave. I don’t have any ‘muscle’ shots to post yet, but here are a few recent professional shots, plus a montage of tearsheets from a book called ‘Massage for Wimps’.
I’m looking forward to staying loyal to my plan, and eventually posting some ‘update’ shots on my profile here. I absolutely LOVE T-Nation, and have been reading the posts and articles here for some time now. I’ve learned so much, and get such enormous inspiration from all the T-Men and T-Vixens here. My sincere thanks to all of you.
