Fats are 9cal/g, while carbs/pro are only 4cal/g. A serving of PB/Olive oil is almost 200 cal itself. Adding a spoon of OO into a shake or PB on a piece of bread to a meal several times a day adds up real quick, and isnt expensive.

this. EVOO with protein, bumps calls up quick.
on a side note - I remember reading that per gram protein was more like 3.8cals due to the fact it takes more heat to burn protein for energy.

Protein shakes with EVOO or a shit load of simple carbs, awesome. Also If its really labor intensive and you sweat a lot, look into adding a few drops of glycerine in your water or shakes as it helps keep a person hydrated, but make sure is doesn’t have any rosewater in it and is USP labeled. Good Luck with the job and good job with the bulk.
I’ve been doing VERY physical jobs for 12 hours a shift, 4 days a week including two 6pm-6am shifts for 17 years and I wouldnt trade more physical work for sitting on my ass EVER!
I’ve done jobs where I have sat on my ass day after day and all it has done has left me feeling lethargic and worn out after 12 hours of doing nothing!
Your body WILL adapt to the work you do as long as you give it enough nutrition and rest.
And it feels great to actually be USING the strength you've been training for instead of being all show and no go.
Bodies HAVE to adapt or die to the stresses we put on them, I guess people these days are too weak, menatally and physically, to actually want to be strong enough to use their bodies in a productive manner, they look on physical labour as beneath them, which actually says a lot about such people, to me anyway.
you could buy some BCAA’s to drink during week too like Extend for during work and just keep eating as much as you can
What Thornan says is true.
Meeko is going to show up to his first day of work with a cooler of food, a backpack with supliments, and a rolling suitcase full of protein drinks. Then he’s going to realize his job isn’t so difficult. Then his next post he’ll ask tricks to even out a farmer’s tan while at work.
jk! Good luck, Meeko, you’ll do just fine!
good advice.
Oh expect your coworkers to bust your balls for eating all the time.

Up until the time when they place them in their mouths. Then you’ll be the go to guy for advice. They’ll ask how you to lose weight, how to sculpt certain parts, how to “tone” up, etc.
haha thanks guys!
Been doing this job every summer since I was 12 and am now 18. Just wanted to make sure I am doing the right thing to keep these gains coming, as I haven’t worked there while lifting. But if it’s really as simple as eating, I’ll really try pack in the calories.
I love how physical this job is, most of my friends are lifeguards or work inside and hate their lives for the summer. On a side note my first summer working there I got my pay check at the end for 4,000 after taxes. Not bad for a 12 year old during the summer
I guess the moral of this thread is EAT EAT EAT!!!

How do people eat whole pizzas after every session and not look like the michelin man?

Who says they don’t?

Define “whole pizza”
I get a 12" pizza after a lot of my sessions, with some zeppolis and soda and I don’t think that I look like the michelin man.
I don’t look like the michelin man… right?
I work landscaping, and it only took two weeks to get acclimated.
as others have said,
Drink a shit ton of water
Sleep
Eat more
Take your vitamins
Say your prayers
Still haven’t figured out how to fix the farmers tan…

No…but I certainly would…and that’s with 35-40 miles of running a week. Atleast…I think I would.

My situation also.
I’m a forest engineer.
Somedays I walk 2-3 hours under the freakin’ hot sun (and in Greece the sun’s freakin’ hot)
Water, electrolytes (unrefined sea salt) and BCAAs go a long way…
I know where you coming from bro! In the summer I lead 4 weekly sports specific boot camp courses within our campus rec department for club sports athletes who stick around in the summer and want to keep up on sport skills and training. Each session is an hour long and its pure cardio and metabolic circuit stuff. This is in addition to my 5 weekly weight training workouts I do myself. Eating 5-6x a day is the best I can do for meal frequency so getting calories in each and every day is the only real defense I have to combat the additional calories I lose to the cardio.
Safe to say I do not do ANY other cardio at all outside of these courses. Its too much as is but on the bright side it does lean me out pretty quick for the summer!

Because I’m 18. Had a really fast metabolism at 180lbs and now at 230 it’s only faster, I’m also 6’5.
