Phil Heath

I think the abnormality of the calves is if you look at the bottom of each calf to his inner leg (closest to the other leg) the claves flail/curve outwards. I honestly noticed this first thing when looking at the full picture.

I won’t point one way or another, but that is certainly an abnormality at best and not what a normal calf looks like (albeit a very well-developed one). Perhaps an injury to the calves that caused wierd tie-ins when repaired? Those certainly aren’t normal.

Edit: Also I’d like to see Kai win an O, whether this year or in the next couple. Guy is huge, has some awesome stage presence, and a great personality (as far as I can tell, not saying Heath doesn’t also - and I know this isn’t Miss USA, but Mr. O also represents the sport.)

Then (2001) and now (2011)

That is not normal, a high level of calf development doesnt mean they have to be abnormal looking too. Yates and Matarazzo’s calves never looked abnormal like that.

This board is such a joke when it comes to any discussion of PED’s. The willful ignorance is astonishing. Go check out any other board with a large community of assisted competitors and SEO and every other drug you can imagine is openly discussed and used by a large percentage of competitors.

This board is dominated by natties and recreational lifters who apparently want to live in their little bubble.

You say that (natties and recreational lifters) with such derision and disrespect to those who choose to be natty.

This bodybuilding forum is about the exchange of information regarding training. The majority of the articles here are also bent on training.

If you don’t like it here, then by all means hang out on those other boards you mentioned.
When I ask a question regarding a pro’s training, I no more want to hear of his drug stack anymore than I want to hear about his sex life, how he styles his hair, or whatever the fuck.

These threads, especially lately, are getting more derailed than a mile-long train riding on a half-mile of track.

Ah, THERE’S your issue right there. You and a few others are making this personal.

I have no problem that pros use. As I stated, I have a problem when training questions get derailed into steroid arguments.

We had a saying in my old wrestling days: “All things being equal, the stronger man wins”.

The same can be said referring to bodybuilders. It’s a given they ALL use. Unless they openly and candidly disclose their stacks and protocols, can anyone guess at which point a measure of progress derives from? Under such a situation, the only fully conversational piece of the pie we have is their training and diet. In the same breath some of you keep pounding that it’s a competitors bevy of drugs that gives him the edge, the exercise routine is JUST as pertinent-- especially considering it’s out in the open.

Frankly, I’d hate to see you go because you have a lot to offer based on your great progress and experience, plus you’re fun much of the time. Like BONEZ’s departure, it would be a loss here.

Im sorry but I don’t believe a bodybuilders sex life or his personal life is comparable to his PED use.

The PED use IS part of his training, anyone ignoring that fact is delusional, and I personally do not use, but I am interested in it, and believe it should be discussed more openly.

I’ve got some bad news for everyone…

Come on now if you use common sense and actually read what I wrote you would see that the reason why STEROIDS were pointed out here is that in the question about phil’s arm training it was IMPLIED that his TRAINING SINCE TURNING PRO was the reason for his ARM GROWTH SINCE TURNING PRO

What was stated and seemingly understood by most except a couple of guys for some reason was that

1)Phil’s arms didnt progress at a faster rate than the rest of his body since he turned pro
2)Phil arms were always his strong point so
3)His arms growth were most likely due to a better/higher drug use combined with an already successfull training for him

as someone else mentionned, this is really not the same as if someone had Dennis Wolf’s calves and turned them into Frankhouser calves.

Also, its not because YOU think the bodybuilding should be about training only that it should. If you are gonna talk about pro bodybuilding in the BODYBUILDING forum there are no reasons not to be able to discuss steroids in there also.

THIS IS THE BODYBUILDING FORUM NOT THE NATTY TRAINING FORUM

Sucks. Plz stay

Where did all these experienced guys go? I saw BBB left just before I joined and now Bonez…

The whole reason I joined was to talk to these experienced guys and learn. If you happen to know where they went, please send me a pm. Would be nice to at least lurk those forums. Gotta love the few who ruin for the many.

While i agree that recreational lifters can be annoying at best when they cant recognize the fact that that’s all they are, i see nothing wrong with being a natty lifter, just as i see nothing wrong with being an assisted lifter, and i will never claim that i wont one day jump on that wagon myself.

I have nothing but respect for Phil and any other top level IFBB pro, i was merely pointing out that his calves definitely dont look like they are shaped that way in that pic just because they are so well developed. It’s weird looking and i wouldnt be surprised if it was because of a bad SEO injection.

I have no problem with pros using synthol either, i was merely remarking about his abnormal calves. Some how this is being misconstrued as me being one of those guys who is uneducated on drug use and wants to hate on it for no other reason than being ignorant.

My post wasn’t directed at you audio. It was directed at people who thought that calves actually could like look Aaron Baker’s in that photo, and are not a result of an oil bolus.

Get it through your head. The question was about Phil’s training. NOT his drug stack. There’s a section SPECIFICALLY for steroid discussions and if I wanted to talk about drugs, I’d go there… which is where YOU should be if you want to talk about drugs - which seems is all you want to discuss.

We are being told we can’t discuss Phil’s training without focusing on steroids?

We literally can not openly discuss what he does for his arms because some of you want to blame any and all progress on the drugs?

WTF? Why the fuck would I need to discuss steroids to discuss this guy’s training routine?

Why would anyone take that as hating steroids or being ignorant of them?

I honestly can’t believe we have a bunch of posters here who really believe they know so much more than everyone else that they need to inform people about steroid use in pro bodybuilding…to people who have been doing this shit for years.

You fuckers can’t be this petty.

Phil arm are insane in person. I spoke to Hany Rambod (Phil ‘guru’) . He has some of his client use synthol. As you can tell Phil arm are not stupid looking like some other people that you have seen on the internet. Synthol if used sparingly and with someone who has experience can really improve some body parts like shoulder, arms, and claves. Same with Jay shoulder, his shoulder are as wide as a house 1 being great genetics and hard work the other is using synthol in moderation.

I don’t even have any beef with being a natty or a recreational lifter…

But what’s ridiculous, is that the vocal minority always crying about this is the same exact group; some gang of gymrats (if they can even be called that), who have been lifting for decades with absolute SHIT results (many don’t even look like they lift), have never pinned, are the most gullible people on the internet, and somehow think they’ve got lifting all figured out

I mean, jesus, their ‘hero’ is a guy who would just look obese to 99% of the population, and like an obese guy who does front raises and shrugs to the other 1%. And this is someone who has been training for DECADES
