Thanks Jack. I am convinced I could have gotten 699 on the DL. No problem. Pissed I got greedy and had to get the 705.
Snapper, thanks as well. Your new avatar is awesome as well.

big numbers and a successful meet! great job!
everything has to be perfect to go three-for-three on each lift.
Congrats, huge numbers, gonna get huger. Are you going to train at your present body weight or go down some?

the whisky report:
Long long day today, meet was stacked with lifters and flights moved slow. Here is what I did:
Bench 639 3 whites, 683 no lift x 2. Got outta groove entirely, and mentally I just have a tendancy to overthink second attempts. Need to get over that.
Deadlift 655 3 whites, 705 when the same as my second and third bench attempts. The weight got up to my knees and I stalled. I had plenty of strength but the pscyhological part just got to me.
Overall happy though, last meet in February, my first multi ply, I bombed out completely, unable to get an opener of 610 in at all. So there is significant progress. I definitely feel like 705 in bench and dead are easily in my reach, just need to get smarter in prep and not pscyhologically defeat myself before I even have the bar in hand.
oh and some video will follow[/quote]
pete, nice numbers. you are one strong sumbitch. a well timed ammonia cap will remove any doubt in your mind. where was the meet?
Harry, I am dieting down starting tomorrow, but not sure if I might not ‘eat up’ for competitions in the future. Gonna find a happy place again for day to day living, but there is something to be said about training for strength with a surplus of calories.
hawkcapt, this was down in Montgomery MN. Some strong SOBs from your state there, especially in the bench only flight. And yeah, I fucked up by excluding the ammonia. Especially with the deadlift. I literally have skinned knees from the bar being stuck at my knees. WTF? I have pulled close to 800 for reps from below that. Oh well.

I would venture a guess that’s it’s the crew from Mason City/Clear Lake that lifted. The guys I know here in the DSM area didn’t make the trip.
Sounds like a good time Pete, that’s a hell of a lot of weight. Nice Job!
