These felt heavier than usual and I don’t have any energy left for any upper body stuff, but it’s nice to know that I can work all day at my job, come home to eat and pack, go work a seven-hour DJ gig, get to bed at 5 in the morning, and still deadlift the next day.


Spent most of the past two days digging the ground to plant some grapes next month, also pulled a couple of tree stumps. So I took it kinda easy with the lifting.

Need to do something else with these squats. I can do 129 no problem, but these days as soon as I get anywhere above 130 my confidence evaporates for no good reason, and when doing front squats off the bottom that’s pretty necessary to get a good takeoff and make the lift.

Moved the deadlifts to midweek since I’m DJing more often on the weekends now, and that means I get less sleep. Just seems reasonable to not do the heaviest lift the day before or after I’m going to sleep 5 hours.

Tabata front squats: 49 kg

Think I oughta take a week off soon. I look at this log, see that it’s time to do military presses today, and get this “oh crap, nooooo” feeling. But for now…

15x1: front squat 119 kg, doing one every 90 seconds

So I needed to do something different with the squats, and this seems good. I will try to get the intervals down to 60 seconds, then increase weight.

The “I oughta take a week off soon” feeling has gone away by itself, so I’ll keep at it for a bit longer.
