Persistent Guy's Training Log Continues

5x1: front squat 133 kg
2x3, 6x2: military press 73 kg
1x4, 4x3, 2x2: pullup 10 kg

And, sure, I’ve got more songs I could post, including much odder ones from years ago, but instead here’s me reading a children’s story.

So, me being me, I welcome the birth of my Lord and Savior with some front squats.

10x3: front squat 105 kg
2x20: db floor press 42 kg
3x12: reverse grip curl 39 kg

Finally got some rest after a busy December. I’ve definitely lost some stomach fat just from being busy and not having too much willpower left for stuffing myself with food, but weighing myself today it turns out it wasn’t much. This week will hopefully be quiet at work, though I do work on New Year’s Eve and then I have a DJ gig which will probably be at least 8 hours.

Weight: 94.3 kg

1x2: deadlift 189 kg
1x2: deadlift 199 kg
1x2: deadlift 209 kg
1x2: deadlift 219 kg
1x2: deadlift 229 kg
3x3, 5x2: military press 73 kg
3x12: pullup

5x1: front squat 133 kg
2x10: front squat 89 kg

Feel like I need a change. Not a week off, cause I’ll have some time off from work in January so I’ll have more time for recovery, but a change.

Worked on New Year’s Eve starting 8 AM, then at 8 PM had a DJ gig which lasted till after 5 AM. By the time I got home, ate and went to bed it was getting light. But when I lifted today, the weights felt lighter than the same weights did last week. Go figure.

10x3: front squat 105 kg
2x20: db floor press 42 kg
8x3: pullup 10 kg

Still need a change, might do one lift a day next.

Time for a change. Specifically, one lift a day. Starting with military presses.

1x5: military press 69 kg
2x5: military press 71 kg
4x5: military press 73 kg

2x5: deadlift 191 kg
2x5: deadlift 199 kg
2x5: deadlift 201 kg
1x5: deadlift 203 kg

I normally do a total of 10 reps a week for deadlifts, this is 3 1/2 times as much. I wasn’t able to do a total of seven tons, but at least I kept all the sets at double bodyweight and above. Also, all done with no belt. I tried, but I’m so unused to deadlifting with a belt that I could only use it in warmups. Working weights just felt too weird and off - I tried the first set with a belt and I couldn’t get the bar off the ground at all.

Pullup day, also my birthday and a day off from work, which means I had the time to make oxtail stew. Two oxtails in the pot, none of this one tail stuff.

2x5: pullup 12 kg
3x5: pullup 14 kg
2x5: pullup 16 kg

Front squat day.

1x5: front squat 111 kg
1x5: front squat 119 kg
5x5: front squat 123 kg

Ow.

Now to go roast some catfish.

1x5: one arm db floor press 50 kg
3x5: 52 kg
3x5: 54 kg

I see from my old log I last did this in 2012. I’m definitely using bigger weights now, though how much of that is me getting stronger and how much is just going heavier and pushing myself harder, I’m not sure.

Second week of OLAD.

2x3: military press 75 kg
4x3: military press 77 kg

Biggest weight I’ve ever put over my head before today was 73 kilos.

Deadlift day.

2x3: 209 kg
3x3: 213 kg
1x3: 215 kg

Pullups.

1x3: 18 kg
2x3: 20 kg
3x3: 22 kg

Front squats.

4x3: 125 kg
2x3: 129 kg

6x3: one arm db floor press 56 kg

And on a very random note, a track I uploaded to Youtube a few weeks ago got 14 plays from Mongolia - probably making it more popular there per capita than here in Poland

Starting the last week of OLAD.

Military press day.

1x5: 73 kg
1x3: 77 kg
1x2: 81 kg

I can power clean that 81 into position without dipping, too. Which is good, because it seems easier on my wrists than power cleaning with even a quarter-squat dip.

Deadlift day. Also finished something big on the music side which I’ve been working on since October of 2014, making it kindof hard to concentrate on other things, but nothing will focus your mind on lifting like picking up 200 kilos.

1x5: 201 kg
1x3: 213 kg
1x2: 229 kg

Pullups.

1x5: 18 kg
1x3: 22 kg
1x3: 24 kg
1x2: 26 kg

Was supposed to be 5/3/2 but the 24 kilos felt OK and I did one more rep with it, so I put another small plate in the backpack and did another double.

Front squat day:

1x5: 123 kg
1x3: 129 kg
1x2: 131 kg

Last day of OLAD. One-arm db floor presses.

1x5: 54 kg
1x3: 56 kg
1x2: 58 kg

Probably a better lift for higher volume with less weight, but doing something like this once every few years is great for confidence - just knowing that yeah, I can stabilize and control that much weight with one arm.
