Just did the light deads as double pauses instead of snatch grip for a change, will try the two snatch grip sets and one double paused set later. Today was supposed to be a day off but it looks like I’ll be out late tomorrow and lugging my double bass around, so… training tomorrow would probably be making my life unnecessarily difficult. Smarter to move it one day up to today.

Lugging the bass around yesterday went fine, should have more shows with the singer in the upcoming months… probably ended up doing a total of an hour on foot with it, between going from home to the tram stop, heading in the wrong direction after getting there and having to backtrack to find the venue, and the way back home. Bass is about 8-9 kilos and bag another 9, plus the preamp and cables and tuner, so about an 18-kilo load, so not really heavy but kinda impossible to carry with a straight spine. So my lower back felt a little stiff today doing the Zerchers, but generally fine. Will see how I’m feeling when it comes time to deadlift on Tuesday. Hopefully 100%.

Something in the right side of my back (maybe lat, maybe closer to the middle) was tight especially after the first working set of deads, so I went light and higher reps on the second set and that seemed to fix it because all the other lifts after that felt totally fine. Interesting. Might have been from all the reaching I did picking grapes in the early afternoon. Got more grapes to pick tomorrow but these are mine and I keep them low, so I’ll have to stoop and squat some but no ladders and no reaching above my head…
