Persistent Guy's Training Log Continues

Huh, didn’t even notice I hit 2000 posts in this thread yesterday. All the more good that post 2000 ended up being much better than “I was feeling crappy warming up so I just did 3 light sets of 5”.

So, on to today…

1x8: front squat 109 kg
2x10: front squat 99 kg
3x8: db floor press 42 kg
1x12: db floor press 36 kg
1x12: military press 49 kg

…and on to 3000, I guess.

Doing the first couple of reps of the high pulls as power cleans (basically, same thing but catching the bar), but not sure how to log that in a non-messy way.

3x10: snatch grip deadlift 129 kg
3x(3 power clean + 9 high pull): 69 kg
1x7: bentover row 69 kg

First few reps of that row finisher were definitely bad, used way too much momentum almost like the start of a hang clean. Settled down after that, though.

Lousy depth on that heaviest front squat set, though. It’s comical how much stronger I am doing Zercher squats.

2x3, 1x2: pullup 36 kg
1x10, 2x3: pullup

Bit of a fail on one of the pullup reps.

1x12, 1x10: double pause deadlift 129 kg
3x(3 power clean + 9 high pull): 69 kg

Tore the left thumb skin open a bit on the first working set of deads, so did double paused ones after that. I expected it to happen… really need to be more careful about chewing that left thumbnail.

Two days ago:

1x5: military press 75 kg
1x6: military press 69 kg

1x12: military press 49 kg

Today:
1x12, 2x10: deadlift 151 kg
1x3, 2x2: pullup 36 kg
1x10, 1x3, 1x2: pullup

Right elbow kinda hurt, but got better by the end of the first working set of deads, but then pullups didn’t go well. And no wonder - after a week of working from the office and eating a ton of “normal people food” catering, my weight’s up to 88 kilos, haha. I assume I’ll get back to normal quickly, though.

1x10: front squat 99 kg
3x8: db floor press 42 kg
1x12: db floor press 36 kg
1x12: military press 49 kg

Getting better and more consistent at keeping my butt planted on the floor presses, especially when doing the left hand, where somehow it’s more tempted to rise.

2x5: double pause deadlift 169 kg
3x(3 power clean + 9 high pull): 69 kg
1x7: bentover row 69 kg

Weight: 84.9 kilos. I didn’t even try to eat less or cleaner or anything, really just got back to normal in a few days like I thought I would. The 88 kilos really was just the temporary fluctuation it felt like.

Also got a goat this morning, which is as good an excuse to take a selfie with one of its legs as any.

So back to normal with the pullups, after a couple of lousy weeks.
