I would love to not be on Nebido. If I could have a higher injection frequency I imagine I’d be a lot more stable. Gels don’t work for me. Did you get gel or injections? What ester? How often? I have Nebido every ten weeks (ordinarily it’s every twelve)

Nothing much to report today. Very sore (quads, bicepa and upper back). I will drive to Hannover to the one crossfit box that has a 20m lane and a yoke to get a practise session in with full comp length and some carry medley work. I talked to the head coach and my only option is to drop in at 7 pm on Friday, when they have their strongman class. I hope that won’t be distracting.
So that means today will be an additional rest day. Then lift Friday and Saturday and our last official tennis match of the season takes place on Sunday.
My friend is a Nigerian Prince, who will be very happy with this info.
The Nigerian royal family must be huge. I hear of so many princes from there!

Made the trip to Hannover yesterday evening to train at the crossfit box I have visited from time to time over the years to prepare for contests.
My upper back was really stiff and kinda tight going in. Wasn’t helping log. I also twisted something (all good, just felt weird for a few hours) lifting patients… look at the young athlete ladies and gents, haha.
1 log lift
10 x 1 @ 100 - 105 kg (log was something between 40 and 45 kg. Coach there wasn’t sure)
2 yoke walk
4 x 22-23 m @ 300 kg (realized the distance error too late)

Notes:
- ooookay. On paper this was a pretty bad session. But I would argue that the circumstances and especially the equipment was tough and throwing me off. Paired with a bit of build up fatigue, I think I should do a lot better in comp.
- the yoke was a disaster. It was at least as wobbly, if not more than mine but much worse, the cross bar was unusually thin. That made carrying it and holding it in place super awkward. Also the track was barely wider than the yoke and on 3 of 4 runs I hit something on the sides. All in all probably the worst yoke effort that I have done but I know from experience that the comp yoke will be much easier to use.
- the log was a smaller diameter than what I am used to and that threw me off more than I expected. The sets/ reps were a mixed bag between good, decent, bad and terrible tbh.
- loading inplements were pretty light but decent practise.
- always good to catch up with Anett over the years (head coach there. I know her from the very start of my strongman journey and our paths cross every know and then). Also apparently sometimes it helps to tell people about your problems. We were the only ones there and talking about doping in strongman. I told here about my trt situation and she said the chief of medicine of a clinic in Hannover which has 3 urology professors, trains at her box. Should I hit a dead end again, she can probably help me get an appointment there. My next appointment with an endo (different one) is on the 13th of October. Fingers crossed.

Notes:
- I really don’t like the way log is going. I have a huge problem with the higher weights. It feels super heavy on my chest and I forget to jump under. Butchered the clean on the second attempt, not even putting me up with a chance for a press.
- the 114 kg felt like they should have gone up. But they didn’t so it doesn’t matter. My foot hurts from kicking the log in anger
- these sessions did not establish confidence for next week at all.
Now I have to finish tennis season (last official match tomorrow and club championships double on Monday probably).
We might not even need to call on the Nigerian princes!

Lost my single 2:6 and 6:7 (6:8 in tiebreak). Good, balanced match. The first set result was unnecessarily clear.
We lost the double 6:7 (in tiebreak) and 0:6. No idea why we sucked so much in the 2nd set.
I will most likely reschedule tomorrow’s match to next week (just club championships) to ensure adequate recovery.
Maybe this is just tennis’s way of telling you that strongman is far manlier and you should just focus on that instead.
