I’d check @Koestrizer browser history before you start making rash statements like that.

A wise man.

@simo74 @dagill2 thanks guys, I just try to not let it consume me. I am not always doing a great job with it but head is over the water most of the time!

I would not say no. There was no mention we couldn’t go as a platonic couple right?

All of my vacations have those! Even when I was touring Ireland by bike, the alcohol was flowing steadily and plenty, haha. First vacation will be a short road trip with a friend over to Holland. Visiting Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Den Haag. Second holiday, I will travel down to Munich and stay with my former flatmate and see some familiar faces, drown in lager and go to my favorite hiking spot!

It was Ireland, I’m not clear what else you were expecting?

Nothing less for sure! A bike tour for most people would have implied there wouldn’t be as much alcohol involved though, haha.
It was the best vacation to date. We just loaded everything onto the bikes and then went from camping side to camping side in Ireland’s southwest. We also had the best weather the residents had ever seen around this time a year,as they told us.

This is one of the lowest bars I’ve seen in a while, honestly. People don’t generally come to the British Isles for the weather.

True but 10 days of sun, tshirts and no rain in mid September? That’s a PR for Ireland!

We went on a family holiday in mid September last year and it was absolutely perfect weather. God knows how many virgins someone had to sacrifice for that to happen.

Really really didn’t feel like training today. Head down and get the work in! Nothing hardcore about it, I was plenty lazy and on my phone between sets, I just know to get stuff done without needing a pep talk or feeling like it. I have plenty of practise, lol.
Some nagging pain in my right ac joint/ clavicle. I’m not worried but will be more careful on those db presses in the future.

1 box squat
3 x 4 @ 152,5 kg

2 box jumps
5 x 3

3 step ups
3 x 6 @ 55 kg (per leg. Alternating)

4 strict press
3 x 6 @ 75 kg

5 hip thrusts
3 x 8 @ 140 kg - gutes really on freaking fire here today.

6 lat pull down
3 x 10

Notes:

  • squats felt much better today all of a sudden! Also kind of easier despite the weight increase. Plus I think they looked really decent on video.
  • man those step ups are not getting easier. While one of the easiest unilateral leg exercises in theory, at a decent weight and height, they become a real challenge.
  • no tennis this week (training is exhausting enough rn, lol + shoulder) but instead I will add a 3rd session on Saturday just for technique training on tire flips and throws. To ensure recovery (and because I plan on drinking more than I usually do next Saturday) I will take Sunday off and resume Monday.

I see a lot of “for reps” in that competition man. I love rep fests, but how do you feel about them? Your training seems to err on the higher intensity lower volume side

“For reps” is definitely the standard in our comps. I suspect the reason being that it is so much easier to set up…
That said… since I moved up a league last year, I struggle to get multiple reps in any event for reps. So it’s usually a very high percentage of my 1rm or in the case of those damned car deadlifts even above my 1rm. Far from a rep fest in my case.
My static strength is the part that holds me back the most by a long stretch. Moving events are a lot better for me usually.

Bulk up to 150 kg?

Y not. Probably be pretty uncomfy at that BW for u but gains will be good. Cut back down after hold onto muscle. Ez

Would need to buy your ebook on trening hard first.

TLDR tren hard but not too hard. Rest harder. Profit. But actually gaining weight if ur not already a fat fuck would be useful if relative strength doesn’t matter to u right now.

Gaining weight is not the worst idea in my situation. I’m not fat and actually did a decent job of filling out my weight with more muscle gradually. That was a long progress and bodyfat percentage is still decently high (definitely still enough chubs left).
TLDR, I am too self conscious to gain more weight atm.

Shoulder is getting better. I hope/ predict it will be back to normal by Monday.

1 paused push jerk
5 x 3 @ 97,5 kg

2 romanian deadlifts
3 x 8 @ 140 kg

3 yoke
5 x 9m @ 235 kg

4 wide grip shrugs
3 @ 120 kg - nope from the AC.

5 zercher squats
3 x 6 @ 120 kg

6 hanging leg raises (traight legs)
4 x 6

Notes:

  • Jerks were weird. On the one hand, the weight is incredibly easy to move but on the other hand, my shoulders and lats are so sore and fatigued from the week, that it also feels kinda hard and I wanted to get them over with, haha.
  • actually the deadlifts bothered the shoulder more than the pressing. Weird.
  • decided against the belt for rdls btw.
  • freaking love the yoke. Always did and I’m looking forward to having it in comp again. The comp yoke is also significantly more stable than my wobbly little shit.
  • had to stop the shrugs after 3 reps. Felt by far the worst on the right ac out of everything. Didn’t seem worth to push through here.
  • had to rerack twice on the first set of zerchers and turned the whole thing into a cluster(fuck) set. Pulled myself together for the next two but it was horrible.
  • took my sweet time. Today for a different reason. I just liked to be there. So why hurry?
