PeptoPro, Waxy Maize & Diarrhea

anyone have diarrhea issues with either of these products?

I’ve been pretty much narrowed it down to these or frozen spinach.

I’ve consumed frozen spinach daily in the past a few years back with no issues.

But the PeptoPro and Waxy don’t seem to occur every time.

I’ve had that issue with waxy maize from almost any provider. Not sure why.

I’ve heard people mention that waxy maize gave them gastro issues, couldn’t speak to peptoPro, i’ve only ever used MAG-10 and have never had an issue with it.

I’ve used PeptoPro, old MAG-10 and new MAG-10 and none of them gave me (or anyone I know) any issues. I also eat a lot of frozen spinach every day with no problems, been doing that for a year if not longer.

So my bet is on waxy maize.

No idea about waxy maize but I know PeptoPro causes some upset occasionally for me.

thanks guys. Had the shake with spinach today and removed the 2 above supplements and just went with BCAAs after the workout.

Will add pepto back in again if no symptoms occur today.

I’ve had problems with all three of those.

Waxy Maize does give a small proportion of people gastrointestinal distress, as can hydrolyzed casein. I’d try doing one without the other and see which it is - there are acceptable replacements for each.

Well, no poos yesterday… Leads me to believe I shouldn’t have dumped my old tub of Anaconda a month or so back when I thought it was the culprit.

I thought that was just due to your particular GI issues and wouldn’t really apply in the general case?

Ok, so yesterday no waxy, but had frozen spinach… no poos
Today, no waxy, had frozen spinach… intestinal cramping and poos

Well, the old Anaconda formula might have still left you with a bit of GI distress, but i don’t think its anything to do with the CH, but more to do with the certain creatine it contains, which gave a lot of people including myself some distress.

I will say both “New” formulas of Anaconda and MAG-10 have no issues in that department, i’ve found them both extremely easy on the stomach, and i have a pretty sensitive one.

As far as your issue, i would just continue to eliminate and assess until you find the culprit, i know the guessing game sucks, so good luck to you in finding the issue.

On a side note i’m a little interested to know why you include spinach in such a shake?

Maybe but IBS/IBD are fairly common.

sorry for the confusion, they’re separate shakes but consumed about 1 hr apart… the spinach goes into a smoothie type shake

lol, gotcha, just the thought of that combo was giving me GI issues!

Waxy Maize will destroy me. I’ll never use it again.
The old Anaconda though effective is always 50/50 chance whether I’m running to the bathroom a couple hrs later.
The old MAG-10 although effective also 50/50 crap shoot, no pun intended.

my suggestion is calcium carbonate
