do any of you get it when if there is something medically wrong with you whether it be the common cold, sprain/strain, organ problems or whatever that normal general people blame it on your training and/or nutrition and supplementation?
whenever i have something wrong with me its always “that shit your taking” or its “see, all that training does you no good”
i have a problem with my liver lately, blood tests have come back abnormal so i am in the process of testing. My wife blamed it straight on protein powder (which i have 1 after training and sometimes as soon as i get up) when i think its too much protein and fat and my liver is congested. My dad said straight away, “its that powder” when the powder is probably the leanest form of protein i eat!
i know people are caring but when i feel i know more than these people and they are always quick to jump on things they know nothing about!!
Sorry just ranting
Hey man get used to it, happend to me for at least the last 15 years from my family. As a practitioner I will tell you most liver problems are from infection ie Hep A,B,C and real medication ie Tylenol, Advil etc. One of the other major issues is of course liver cancer, not trying to scare you just give you facts. Tell your family that if you were going to have a problem from a high protien diet it would be to the kidneys (And this is actually up for debate).
As far as abnormal liver functions, are you on medications? Do you take a lot of over the counter meds. Are you a big guy (like overweight) How old are you?

My liver enzymes consistently come back high. I found study after study that show that people who exercise regularly and strenuously will have elevated liver enzymes. My doc doesn’t believe them and thinks I’m dying and sent me in for an ultrasound which of course came back normal. He then told me to stop taking protein. Only reason I keep going back to this guy is because he’s a close family friend.
I get this ALL the time. I know exactly how you feel. It is extremely annoying when people, who have no idea what they are talking about, judge our health habits.
So check this one out. I take creatine regularly post work out. When I saw my Dr for the first time he obviously noticed I work and asked what supplementation I take. After I went threw my lengthily list… LOL, he told me to stop consuming so much protein and remove creatine from my diet. He said people get it naturally ( which I know this already but ok ) and if you consume to much you could get creatine rage? And that itâ??s like a steroid… LOL. Now mind you I am no Dr. so I wasnâ??t going to argue with the man but gez… He was way off… He sounded like those fat people who watch TV and say all the people who are in shape are on steroids. Made me second guess everything he ever told me about my health. Of course when I got my blood work back my creatine and protein levels were in the normal. Of course he didnâ??t mention that the next time he saw me.
my mom blamed bicep tendinitis, and a rotator cuff injury on protein powder and proceeded to flush 6 pounds of perfectly good Metabolic Drive down the toilet. she smokes cigarettes, eats junk food, and drinks soda regularly. fml.

Did she buy it or pay you back? If she didn’t you should do one of two things a: flush her cigarettes, junk food, and soda down the exact same toilet … or b: try hitting her.
