I’m ready to start putting on gear to peak myself for a meet. I was think of this method to do so for the squat and deadlift and would appreciate any input or criticism from experienced lifters.
Week 1-82%X3X2-straps down
Week 2-87%X3X2-straps down
Week 3-92%X2X2 sets- straps up
Week 4-85%X3X2 sets- straps down
Week 5-90%X2X2 sets- straps down
Week 6-95%X2- straps up
Week 7-down week
Week 8- comp
That is based on max in full gear (single ply poly if it makes a difference). Sound about right or a recipe for overtraining?
I say if your going the route of standard periodization start low and climb all the way in terms of %'s I would not wave it the way you have set it up . If you want pm me I have a number of templates I have used for peaking in the past .

I don’t like the waving, and I think 8 weeks of heavy stuff might be a bit much. I can also send you the training cycles that I use to peak for my comp if you like, that could give you some ideas too. I’m currently in week 3 of a 9 week cycle to peak my up for a comp on nov 29. PM me mate if you want mate
