Its true I think the strength and combat sections are the friendliest, yall deal with the least riff raff and nonsensical newbie questions.

Over at the steroid section we all are jaded cynics, even our younger members have become “angry veterans”, the bodybuilding sections, etc are similarly infested.

Yall are specialized enough to catch more experienced users.

This is a good move…

Just BJJ today.

I ate at 6:30 and class is at 9, not enough separation. Rolling while full sucks. I’m thinking that I’ll do a meal around 5 and then a shake later to not be hungry, but not be full.

So, I think we have another girl now. She’s been to a few classes and she rolls with the guys. She’s really little though (119lbs not muscle) so we’ll see how it goes.

We warmed up by rolling 25%, where you go through moves with no muscle or aggressiveness, so it’s like a dynamic warm up. This is way harder than you’d think, it’s really easy to get in the moment and try to muscle something, also when you don’t know what you’re doing muscling is instinctual. I rolled with a new guy initially, but he’s a judo black belt, so he knows what he’s doing. Judo guys have impossible to break grips. He cat clawed then twisted one sleeve and then just dragged me around with it.

Then I rolled with the girl. She doesn’t know what she’s doing, and was about to go with one of the guys that I know is rough so I kinda butted in and took her, I got a little shit for it, but I don’t want her to get smashed and leave. I’m not really sure if it was the best idea, should I warm her in advance who to roll with and who not to? Do I let her learn the hard way? Anyway, she was really just flopping around, so I took our 5 min to show her the elbow escape from mount.

I didn’t want to drill with her, we were doing omoplatas (sp?) and I’m not comfortable teaching them. I told her to pick a blue belt and ended up with a newish college wrestler. We did an omoplata from closed guard. Pretty basic, though sometimes scooting out to get his shoulder to the ground sucks. It’s a matter of practice though. He added in a trick where you gable over your top leg and put your shin in front of his neck if he’s pinning your bottom leg and then press up that we drilled a bit. Next a pretty sweet arm bar for when you just can’t get that shoulder down. It was nice and sneaky, but I had a bit of trouble staying close to his body and getting the elbow. And a D’arce for when the arm bar and the omoplata don’t work.

Then we rolled 4 five minute rounds. I’m starting in peoples closed guards for a while. I have a lot of trouble opening and need to make myself do it. I kept my drilling partner for the first round. I tried the hold his armpits and stand open, but I couldn’t keep him down! I defended the x-choke for a while and then got frustrated, and went for the rape choke. I need to not reach for asshole moves when frustrated because then karma got me and he opened and tried for the triangle, but instead heeled me right in the temple. It still hurts like a motherfucker. I sat out the rest of that round.

Then I ‘rolled’ with the girl. I started in her gaurd, opened her and took mount then let her elbow escape and we redid the whole thing for 5 minutes. I have no trouble pinning a girl I have 30ish pounds on, so it didn’t really feel like I was doing anything.

I rolled with coach next. He played bottom, I’m the floppy little girl to him. I have no idea what to do when I’m in the dominant position. I’m just too used to always playing defense. I need to figure out what to do about it.

Then I rolled with Brendan. The fucker has hit some magic button and now is better than me. He didn’t tap me, but he’s doing things I can’t predict. It sucked but was a good sucked.

I was going to drill after class, but hadn’t planned on anything to drill so I just fucked around a bit. Rolled 25%, played with a pendulum sweep for when the hip bump sweep goes wrong, and then tried differet arm triangle grips.

Overall it was good, though my head still hurts. Tomorrow I’m going to aim for Mega Dave’s, I hear they have a new fat girl.

Thanks, though you should keep in mind that most of the women that have logs on T-Nation probably don’t spook that easily

Have you ever tried to post a riff raff and nonsensical newbie question in Powerful Women? They’ll eat you.

lol, angry women’s

Whos scarier catty girls or chemically enhanced men ?

Kind of a toss up.

I love hearing the Judo players grip is impossible to break

how was his posture?

I get the most comments on my grip and posture when rollng with jj and bjj types
played judo and college wrestled. Sadly its like wanting to practice a foreign language
I want to practice sweeps, avoiding chokes, they want to practice or learn takedowns.

Have you spend most of your time working in guard- top control is a little different way of thinking

I didn’t really notice his posture, so it must have been good. He was a little odd to roll with but that may have just been the 25% contributing.

Lol, that’s exactly how it goes for him. He’s only been to a handful of classes but after class the guys always swamp him with questions about throws.

What’re judo’s basic rules I know it’s throws, but there’s ground work too right? Is the goal still a tap?

Yeah, I’m most comfortable on bottom.

You can win in judo a few ways,

there are chokes that lead to taps, you can do many chokes, but nothing below the elbow
and most if not all ankle locks are not allowed.
Sometimes there are knee bars, but that is usually not the case.
And like BJJ each tourney has its own peculiar things.

you can win by points-
Ippon is one full point - awarded for one good throw the classic way to win.
you throw somone for ippon and the match is over.

and waza-ari which when you score twice is like ippon they end the match.

there are a ton of other little rules, that vary,
grip fighting has a bunch of rules, about engaging or evading grips…
that stuff is minor, the big stuff is throwing somone for ippon or 1/2 ippon so to speak
and taps.

this is like super watered down.

for ground fighting we call it newaza- there are several “classic” positions that one works for,
but there is virtually no guard work, it varies from school to school as to what they put the emphasis on.
In the US grips are not part of the plan, the rest of the world they are- when I say grip.
I mean grabbing the other persons Gi we do that ALLOT and working on control with just the grip.

Newazza is where you will see all the chokes, armbars, keylocks that you use.

Haha, so true.

I had a older female bodybuilder at my gym develop a more than keen interest in me, she was very “aggressive”, likely due to the steroid usage throwing her sex drive out of control.

She was older, but still in her late 30’s, I was like 21-22, but she was just too manly for me, shame too, probably not a bad looking gal, originally, just a few too many androgenic steroids for my tastes.

The chemically altered ladies can easily take the game too far and quickly become very unappealing to men.

She was kinda… “emotionally unstable”… is the word, real edgy, hot headed and jumpy and she made me really nervous, her blatant sexual advances were only half joking, and I always felt like I was going to get knocked out from behind while deadlifting and kidnapped.

I was like 6 foot, 220 at the time, on steroids, many, many times stronger than her and legitimately on edge, scared even, she was just a loose cannon.

He was just trying to give us a false sense of security.

Lol

Though now I must ask more questions, what made her too manly (as in which of her features). Also, I thought there was no such thing as a too sexually agressive woman. What is this too far you speak of?

She was starting to cross the line from woman to man. So the whole “women” word didn’t actually technically apply.

If she hadn’t been using AS MANY steroids, I would have banged her till she walked funny.
She had the sharp jaw line, her voice was kinda lower, just had a kinda “manly looking” face.

Hard to explain, she looked like the pro bodybuilder women do, thats just too far.

Im a supporter of female steroid usage, but not to the point where masculinizing sideffects occur, or atleast a minimum of masculinizing sideeffects occur.

WOMEN with muscles is key, if your starting to cross a line chemically then we get turned off quick. its not usually that the muscles are too large, its the masculine qualities.

This girl for example, I found on google images, is absolutely smoking.

Another. Look at her back, amazingness.

This girl could play as rough as you want, and be a great lifting partner.

huh, that girl is pretty and buff…haven’t really seen much of that synergy in real life

Yesterday was workout B and Mega Dave’s. So, I had to go to the gym during peak hours :frowning: (now get why kmc types like that, fuck, it would be nice if the box size changed as the window size changes, I want to type into a tiny space!) Teenagers, babies, curlers in the only squat rack, chatty grandmas, now I remember why I try to go at 8pm.

To warm up:
Fire Hydrants
Broom stick stretch
Around the worlds

1A) Deadlifts 105 3x10
There were no bars available, since it was everyone’s Bench Press day. So I used one of the shorter bars. What are they actually called? The size of the EZ curl bar but not with the bends.
1B) DB Rows 30 3x10
2A) DB Lunges 20 3x10
Something feels off with these, I need to look up form.
2B) DB Overhead Press 15 3x10
3A) DB External Rotation 5 2x12
3B) Prone Scaptions 5 2x12

Then Mega Dave’s.
