I did 335 after this but I was skilled enough to only take a picture instead of recording…
Could only hit 375x2Set1REP today… was supposed to be 375x3… The speed I’m getting off these pause squats is signaling that I have a form issue?
Any input would be appreciated, I’m sensing glute weakness.
ON A SIDE NOTE: I’m getting intense tightness in my chest that WILL NOT allow me to get good air into my chest or flex my upper abs? Any help? Blood pressure is good, HR is good.
I would say you are just not used to not getting the “bounce” at the bottom from deep high bar squats. Your form still looks good to me, it just that you look a little unstable when unracking.
The lift looks good. What might help is getting into position quicker. You unrack and take 2 steps back, then a small step forward along with some general maneuvering to get in position.
Next time try unracking, take one step back with right foot, one step back with left foot. Get air and get tight. Then squat.
Also keep your head up at all times, looks like you look down to maybe find foot position.
A big part of the olympic style squat is getting the bounce out of the bottom, if you pause it of course it is going to be a little bit choppy. I am pretty impressed by your posture especially when you are using chucks to squat oly style!
