I did 335 after this but I was skilled enough to only take a picture instead of recording…
Could only hit 375x2Set1REP today… was supposed to be 375x3… The speed I’m getting off these pause squats is signaling that I have a form issue?
Any input would be appreciated, I’m sensing glute weakness.
ON A SIDE NOTE: I’m getting intense tightness in my chest that WILL NOT allow me to get good air into my chest or flex my upper abs? Any help? Blood pressure is good, HR is good.
A few things:
-Why are you going so deep? Do you compete that way or is this an “off-season” cycle where you go super deep?
-STAY TIGHT! From the moment you unrack it’s obvious you’re not staying tight enough. This is causing you to not be tight enough on the descent, even less tight during the pause, and hardly tight at all on the ascent (from what it looks like, at least).
-Make sure you’re externally rotating your femurs more. This engages the glutes, improving tightness and overall strength.
I’ve learned a lot about paused squats recently from doing 5+ second holds with 85+% at my weakest point in the lift. It’s very humbling and great for learning proper motor control and staying tight.
Yea i can’t stay tight because of that issue with my upper back… I think I might have pulled my lat or something, it’s killing my stability.
And, I can’t help it, that’s just where I end up depth wise.
