Partner getting self conscious

I would like to go on record saying that menopause is bullshit.

Side note: my symptoms have diminished considerably since I lost weight and started eating better again. Between the night time anxiety and the hot flashes it was miserable.

Point her in the direction of a coach who takes on female lifestyle clients.
This should probably be a female coach, and one who is very well versed in women’s hormones. There are some men who are well versed enough to handle female clients, but not many.

She pays for the coach, she follows the directions, she gets the results.
Or she doesn’t. The tools and accountability are entirely in her court.
But you dont have to be the asshole.

Or you just get absolutely shredded and the insecurity that stokes in her will help her find the motivation to lose weight.

Not saying its right, just saying it works.

Exactly she can hate her coach and not resent my sorry ass.

So encourage her to get a coach.

She will have to learn accountability for herself if she wants to make the changes, but you don’t have to be the punching bag for her lack of it.

Do yourself a favor and stop downplaying yourself. You have your shit together. Your girl likes being with you… stop getting in the way of that.

100% correct. I take everything that my husband says about my training personally. I have zero problem accepting instructions or criticism from a coach. Or complete strangers on the Internet if we’re being honest.

Yes.

Not sure I totally agree here. I don’t disagree with the sentiment (I’m choosing to look at it as lead by example) but I know way too many very healthy well built men who live with overweight wives to see any evidence that this would actually work. For instance my brother-in-law has been shredded for the entirety of their marriage and works out every single day. He can’t get my sister to pick up a 5 lb dumbbell.

Actually, I think it’s herself that she doesn’t like much.

I 100% agree. It sounds kinda dumb, but when I started lifting and eating better it kind of felt like a hole that always sat in my chest was filled. I had always felt like something was missing. Taking care of myself and proving to myself what I’m capable of was huge for me. I’ve not found anything that makes me feel better about myself than hitting a deadlift PR. I’ve tried to tell my sister that but you can’t explain that to someone. Now you have a sample of 2.
