Apparently, it’s taking the environment around you (especially an urban one) and turning it into your own little obstacle course of barriers to scale and chasms to leap across. Personally, it just sounds kind of fun and a nice change of pace from the gym grind.
LMAO That’s f-ing nuts. I was thinking more about it from the approach of something more simple, not quite the jumping off buildings and through railings (as cool as that is).
jackie chan has been doing this stuff for years huh ? in fact alot of older stuntman stuff is exactly this…
there’s a scene in my favorite movie, high plains drifter, which is the classic cowboy gets shot and falls from the church bell tower(like 50 ft up) slides down the super steep pitch roof and off, hits the gable and rolls off, hits the porch roof and rolls off and finally crumples to the ground (optional landings: horse, stagecoach, or water trough).
the scene on hpd is a single shot, viewed uninterupted from across the street. i always rewind it a few times cause it looks so damn cool…great way to get off the roof and definitely “parkour” i’d say.
