maybe it’s a DC thing cause of the zoo, but the news is going to give people’s reactions to the death of a new born panda… am I wrong to think who the fuck cares?
why do people care about this? why do pandas have some mythical hold over people.
millions of animals die everyday, people shove their faces of dead animals without giving it a 2nd thought, but they’ll be teh same ones to say “oh, it’s so sad the panda died”… and I Dexter?
Yea, kinda funny with the full blown environmental havoc and devastation we are wreaking in every corner of the globe, how indignant and deeply sad we get over the death of one captive raccoon/bear thing.
We’re all about hurtling full throttle into the abyss and taking the the whole planet with us so we can make and sell more useless crap that no one knew they needed 5 yers ago but now we can’t live without but, awwww panda’s are soooo cute.
I wanted to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda who wouldn’t screw to save his species, I wanted to dump oil over all those French beaches I’d never see, I wanted to breath smoke… I felt like destroying something beautiful.

On top of everything else, if it’s as I think, we are probably “renting” any pandas in the US from China – for some obscene amount of money.[/quote]
Something about the whole idea of “panda rental” just makes me imagine something extremely unwholesome going on…
Meh, some people just really like animals. If it bothers them and they feel the need to mourn, okay. As long as they’re not imposing on me to change my day any, I couldn’t care less. My own parents are versions of Dr Doolittle and although I find it odd they feel the need to bond with and feed/provide shelter for every creature they stumble upon, it brings them happiness so who am I to say that’s stupid?
About the panda, I don’t think I could muster up more than a “That’s too bad”. People > animals.
