OVT Combined With EDT

All,

working on a hybrid routine where I do the following:

week 1: Optimized Volume Training
Week 2: EDT, full body, 3x weekly with weights that are in the 2-4 rep range. ie
A1 Chins
A2 Dips
B1 Front Squat
B2 Romanians

While I like the weekly rotation and strucutre, should I aim for higher reps(6-8) during the OVT cycle since I will be going heavy during the Functional cycle? I want to have different enough lifting parameters that I give one system a rest while I work the other the following week.
Any comments welcomed.

On my functinoal week right now. Today, it was

A1 Wtd Dips
A2 Chins
B1 Leg extension
B2 Leg Curl
(I know, the B series is not exactly power movements, I am coming of a cold and did not have squats/romanians in me today).

The weight was hard and heavy, mostly in the 2-4 range.

After more thought, I have decided to modify OVT in the structural week roation like this:

4SS instead of 5SS
go for 6-7 reps as opposed to 5. My goal with this is to work a different system as opposed to the heavy work during the functional EDT cycle. Any comments? How about the weekly rotation? Anyone have better success with bi weekly or monthly rotation?
