I have been sleeping 12 hours a night on a regular basis recently, and still wake up tired. This cuts into my time, and I feel drowsy through the day. Can anyone tell me the reason for this, or should I go see a doctor?

LOL…nice

if you are really asleep that long, you may have sleep apnea, which can be pretty dangerous. Do you snore really heavily? do you wake up short of breath ever?
Get a referral for a sleep study and you may be surprised at what they find. I have family history and just had surgery for snoring/sleep apnea, and it hurt like a bitch, but boy I sleep really soundly now and not so tired during the day. Not to mention my snoring is all but gone…

X2 on getting everything else in order, diet, no alcohol (fake sleep anyway), using ZMA, cut the food a couple of hours before knocking off are all great advice. Reducing stress from work, relationships, etc. Take a 30min nap once a day will help as well if you can get it in, but not within 5-6 hours of bedtime. I used to take St John’s Wort for depression years ago, and read research on it and when I upped the dose from 900mg/day to 1500/day wow what a difference and I slept like a baby. never tried gaba or valerian root, also suppposed to help.

x2 lol

sleep less. like 7-8 hours. oversleep tends to make a person tire.d when you wake do some activity to get the blood flowing and have some protein. it’ll help you wake up.

I have recently been put on a drug called Rozerum. If your circadium rhythm is out of whack this will
get you back on track. This works in much the same way as melatonin, but tweaked without the sides.
