Overreaching by Design

@CT:

In a little over a month I will take vacation and by design take 5 days off from lifting - no gym available where I’m going.

DS Bar arriving tomorrow!

If I was going to overreach on purpose, what would you recommend?

In the past, I have done Conv DL 5 days a week at 70% 1RM like HFS and then one main lift after that.

But, now with layers it’s different.

This is what I was thinking:

DAY 1: Dead Squat to 1RM, DS Launch clusters, DS Launch extended 1+3-4 from hang
DAY 2: Dead Squat bar Decline Tilt, layers
DAY 3: High Pull from blocks, layers
DAY 4: Dead Squat, same as Day 1
DAY 5: Dead Squat bar Incline Tilt, layers
DAY 6: High Pull from blocks, layers
DAY 7: Dead Squat - HFS style, 70% 1RM

REPEAT same cycle for 1 more week.

I would think that by the end of 2 weeks I should have overreach my recovery capability and 5 days off would do me some good.

Your observations please?

Thanks,
M

With 5 days off you only need a 7 days of overload to get the desired effect… you can stretch it to 10 days but honestly it might actually do more harm tna good since you might take bad motor habits at the end of the cycle due to fatigue and loss of coordination.
