Overhead Work with Bands

Just a few quick questions about bands: Can they be used when doing military press and power jerks? And how do you set up the bands when you are getting ready to use them.

If I remember correctly jumpstretch bands are rated at a 6 foot stretch. They will stretch farther, but their lifetime will shorten as a result. What I do for overhead movements is figure how much rope I need to add in oreder to stretch the bands to a six foot length, and attach that length, plus enough to tie off to a 5 lb plate. I then tie one end of the rope to the band and the other to a 5 lb plate. I then pass the band/rope combo through the center holes of 3 45lb plates, repeat on other side then loop the loose ends of the bands onto the bar, and then press away.

probably wouldn’t recommend it. Too demanding on your shoulder joints. Just stick to bench presses.
