I tried overhead squats for the first time and I really have trouble to balance the weight. I can hold it in the bottom position, but at midpoint of the movement the bar moves forward. If I don`t want to drop the weight I have to bend my elbows then. What can I do to fix that problem?

Whoa man I saw Vfb Stuttgart play FC Koln last year on August 14. Stuttgart got spanked, LOL. Anyway just keep doing overhead squats, it takes a little bit of effort to get the hang of them, but they’re worth it, they helped give me amazing balance.
Can’t say why it worked for me, but when locked out, I had better luck when I really concentrated on extending my elbows hard and pushing the weight up and back with extended elbows.
ya its really just a function of staying EXTRA tight everywhere. the shit only strays when you losen up. Even if you think you aren’t.

That is the key. That and trying to “spread” the bar. Or “stretch” the bar. However you want to phrase it, it works.[/quote]
If you don’t have enough shoulder flexibility, do dislocates–take a stick or a towel, hold it with a wide grip, and rotate it all the way around your body over your head and back again, narrowing the grip with each pass.
Assuming your shoulder flexibility is OK-- think about punching your traps up.

This is the main point imo. Also, stay tight throughout and make sure the ass is waaaaaaaaay back.
