a Golds gym was holding a “powerlifting and tire flip contest” and was supposed to be 100 bucks to winner of both so I showed up and pressed the tire over my head and there was no prize $$…
My training partner did this a couple months ago but just put it up. Figured I’d post it so we can all feel bad about how are shoulder strength sucks after watching this lol
here’s 135 for 4 reps (did 5 sets). dead-start from rack pos, no leg drive. I do this 4x a week, this was pretty easy for me. Going to max out next week, should be interesting.

ever since i widened my grip to hands outside shoulders, my numbers keep improving and my joints can handle 4x a week, i guess somepeople are built that way.
Kalle - your friend should have a battle royale with Zydrunis savikas!

^ Tell me about these circus dumbbells. What did you use for the tanks? How are they attached, etc.?
I hope the 173 was easy. You’re a hell of a lot stronger than me.[/quote]
after heavy log press strict presses can feel hard sometimes.
The Dumbbell is two propane tanks EMPTIED! I cut the handles and unscrewed the valve. I welded a 3" piece of pipe in between the tanks and replaced the valve with 3/4" plugs which is now the access to add/remove sand from. Cost me 0 as I found all the stuff laying around

Let me guess, you drive a black van with a red strip along the side…

Only on the weekends.
Its not near as nice or as durable as a nice Slaters Dumbbell like used at the Arnold but compared to 600 dollars I’ll stick with mine
^ Free is my general price tag. I do not have two propane tanks airing around, or large have pipe, or welding equipment of the knowledge to use welding equipment, or enough insurance to replace my welding boo-boos…
Best I have is protein jugs, a limb and electrical tape.
Maxed out today on press… did not hit 195 lbs. I hit 185 though. After missing 195 press, I wanted to show you all how easy it is for me to power clean + push press 195 lbs is, for my own sake, lol. I then did a power clean + below knee hang clean after that.

I feel both stronger (your strict press was not really far ahead of mine) and weaker (your catch at that weight is much higher than I think I can manage). Damn it.
Haha yeah dude, thanks. My max c&j is 319 lbs (145 kg) so the power cleaning portion is easy for me, but my shoulders are straight weak as shit, always have been. I’ve hit 225 lbs for 3 reps on the push press, but when it comes to straight no leg-drive pressing… I’m weaaak. At least I know what to work on. Us superheavyweights (105kg+) should be doing a lot of pressing/push pressing anyways.

I do not think I am really that effective with my legs, or at least that is what I am telling myself. I did figure out that pointing my toes out a bit on the press made it more natural to get my head through. Fairly happy about that. Thing is, my pressing that day sucked. Did not make it through my heavier warm-up weights. Too much thinking, it is, I think.

Yeah once you learn how to dip properly and feel that perfect amount of tension in your quads, your push pressing/jerks will sky rocket.
