^ you should post the car deadlifts in the Widowmaker Thread, you can embarrass me in there too! At first I thought you dropped handle on your foot.
That is some awesome stuff.
In the log, are the handles along the axis of the bar or are they parallel? (I hope that makes sense.)
Parallel handles.
haha that 20 rep set was pretty easy i thought Nats would be more of a rep fest but my 4 reps was good enough for 3rd place lol heavy heavy heavy

What do you think the benefits are of doing a seated Arnold press versus a regular seated DB press? I don’t think I’ve ever tried this variant and am a bit curious.
the arnold presses are good because it hits more of the shoulder. rotating the grip places stress on the medial head as well as the anterior head. i used to have all kinds of shoulder problems that had been brought on by having a severe muscle imbalance. my anterior head was much stronger than the medial and posterior. i started doing things like reverse grip bench press, neutral grip pressing, face pulls, dumbell cleans…things that hit the entire shoulder. since then my shoulders feel awesome and i can lift without any pain at all.

MM, I noticed that you have varying hand positions for your OH presses. Lighter work you have a wider grip and heavier you have a narrower grip. Any specific reason/benefit you have for doing this? Shoulder health maybe, or do you get better pressing power out of a narrower grip?
i find that i can support the heavier weight easier at the bottom with a close grip but it has it’s drawbacks. it’s much harder to lockout. i find that the narrow grip transfers better to my bench.

There is a reason cars have headlights…
Got no car around where I lift outside.
Here’s 205 for 4 from a while back to make up for it.

Out of lack of entertainment value at the start of the video I start doing British nature commentary which detracted from the actual lifting because my narration was way off at that point.
Video is not great (especially considering my previous comments to DD about lighting) but here it is. Loaded up my pressing log with all the weight I could. About 22 ft of 3/8ths chain and a couple of 15s from a garage sale. Not sure how much the log weighs, I know it is north of 100 lbs but not sure how much, but a bit awkward to lift when compared to a barbell. (I hit 92k earlier this week if that gives any comparative value).
I got 2, the second one was slow and ugly - my wife just about gave up on the effort which is why the camera traveled down before the log did.
I thought I was going to have to get the log to my chest and stand up with it but since the handles are not in the center of the log I could not see forearm curling the thing over so I just yanked.
EDIT: Did some figuring, guestimate total poundage around 180 to 190 lbs. Not big compared to y’all but then I am not big compared to y’all.

Thanks Meat. I may have to give them a shot at some point.
