Sooooo… Does anybody else actually like to do overhead lifts or are Tex Ag and I going to be the only folks posting in here??

I do them most every week, but you are on your own, mine are embarrassing by comparison. Nice job though, impressive lifts.

You can still try to embarrass me.
Or
Pick up.something other than a barbell and stand on your own.

Dude, your lifts are yours and mine are mine. No need to be embarrased one way or the other. We are all at different points, and I did not take this thread to be an invitation to a pissing contest, just a general challenge to showcase overhead work, regardless of weight, ability, or object being moved. Beside, the more that post, the better.
This is Tex Ag’s thread, but what I am trying to get at here is that I don’t think it should be one where a weight of X or more is required to post or to talk shop. I’ve never really liked the elitist mind set anyway, as there is always someone better.

Good point. I would like to see people pick up odd and heavy (relatively of course) stuff and lift it over their head. If I get the chance I will try a school bus tire in my garage. Not sure if it will happen, or even if my arms a long enough to actually press it, but I will give it a try and post it if I succeed or look really funny trying.
Alright, not much of a “press” here, more of a full-blown jerk, but at least it comes off the floor.
165kg (about 363 pounds) at a bodyweight of about 105.4kg (about 232).
And please ignore the shitty music in the background, I actually had no clue what was playing on the radio until I played this on my laptop at home. You know, mental focus and all.
And yes, I’m too lazy to edit the video down for length.

something a bit different- seated Arnold dumbell presses 140’s x 7 - YouTube
I was wondering when you would post in this thread. Breaking out the old vids for it too. Awesome lifting as always.
question for you:
What do you think the benefits are of doing a seated Arnold press versus a regular seated DB press? I don’t think I’ve ever tried this variant and am a bit curious.
MM, I noticed that you have varying hand positions for your OH presses. Lighter work you have a wider grip and heavier you have a narrower grip. Any specific reason/benefit you have for doing this? Shoulder health maybe, or do you get better pressing power out of a narrower grip?

Kalle, I am jealous of your implements. Nice pressing.
TheJonty, Thats one monster C&J, very impressive. I think your gym and mine could hold a conference on what music should not be played in a gym.
I was excited.at my gym because they finally played some Gn’R but then followed up with two estrogen producing Rush songs. That ain’t right to do a man like that.
