I almost ignored.your post because, given your posting history, I expected I picture with the tags “obese” and “harness” or “saddle” to be posted.

But then sometimes I cant help myself.

Thanks, Tex Ag and DJ.

I lift solo and always press in a cage. I wouldn’t do it any other way without a spotter and even then you can have a bar on your chest/face before they can react.

Incline is my main chest exercise since flat has never agreed with my shoulders so it looks like I’ll just have to experiment/get use to the FGs (or ditch them for that one in particular)

Did you guys notice a drop in poundage when you first started using them?

I was lifting solo in my garage for probably 7 years, just this year started lifting with other people.

I did see some drop when I first started using them last year, but moved up really quick.

I love the FG, great way to change workouts around.

I got mine at a time when my wrists and shoulders ached so all my working weight had dropped. But it is back or beyond pre-fat grips so it worked out. Would suggest a long ramp up so you get used to them and how they feel as you add weight, also their placement can take some figuring out. If you time for some extra work on non-pressing days, that may be a good time to play with them.

Again, thanks, guys. I appreciate it!

Looks like I just need some time to get 'em figured out.

I did not find any decrease trying the FG’s today on the Z-press, so I will expect your video for the Challenge inside a challenge by the 25th.

I was trying to find my 1RM in the OH press and push press today. I have my 1rm on the push press on my camera except I forgot my memory card at home in my laptop, not sure how to get the vid from my camera to the computer if it’s not on the memory card. :-/

But anyways.
OH press- 75lbs for 2(could not do 80lbs for even 1?) I have had some shoulder problems so I’m sort of back where I started at last year. :-/

Push press- 115lbs, I was not expecting to get this given the oh press numbers so I was pooped when I got this one so I may be able to get higher next time. I have tried lifting off the floor and the most I got was 95lbs. lol

Sorry no vid this week, will see how I do with z press next week.

^ You need to get an app that lets you look into your file on your phone. I use ES File Exp - it is free. The I think you can drag and drop once you get your disk in. Another option, if the file is not too large, is to email the file to yourself. You may need to make a zip file.

Nice job Matty!

‘sots’ press:

30kg wasn’t as bad as I thought but the snatch grip is the tough part.
Damn, Deb, that’s truly impressive work right there. These ‘sots’ presses could become part of my workout this year.

Awesome.

It’s not on my phone it’s on my camera, my phone sucks as a camera.

For those doing the z-press I found that.setting up so the bar is under my chin got me in a position where I could be more explosive off the pins. Do not forget to get your chin out of the way. I found getting my head through was more automatic from this position as.well.

Kalle - do we care about using elbow wraps? Not sure I do, will try them next week. I am of the attitude that I just want to see them done.

I prefer to press off fat-grips so I will he using those.
wraps or sleeves? I dont really care I use my inzer sleeves for a lot of pressing

What’s around your elbows in the vids? I have wrist wraps, figure they would work on elbows. I have a nasty stick point that would be nice to move through more quickly.

Nice job Charlie always another day for videos its lifting the weight that matters

They are inzer sleeves they have a velcro strap so they are kind of in between wraps and sleeves. Interested to see if using the wrist wraps helps you out

Tried the z-press for the first time last night. How humbling. I’ve never done them before, but this talk of bodyweight as a goal got me curious. I was fairly confident I would at least get close to my bodyweight of 205. I was wrong. I hit 175 and failed falling backwards on 185. I have videos of both, but I’m having posting issues.

I like these. I might keep these in rotation for a while.
