Did the Cosgrove routine with my friend again and added 2 more moves for a total of 10. Also reduced the 2 minute rest period between every 4 sets to one minute. So that’s 20 total moves with as many as we could do for a minute each. Was intense! We ended up flat on our backs gasping for breath. After a couple of minutes I said, awesome, right? She laughed. I love this addiction.
Damn, you are getting hardcore woman. Next you’ll be posting photos of your callouses. Respect!
HA…I do have some awesome calluses! Will keep that in mind for a photo
Love the pushups. They make me feel really strong.
That is an impressive 5 x 5 set of deadlifts. Nice job!
My left arm (and leg) lag my right as well. It is very irritating.
Great training attydeb! Love the pic after the cosgrove routine. I need to tray that!
There is nothing like a nicely defined arm/shoulder when its tank top season.
Love the new avi, Deb. Very sex-ay with the hat and such.
HA…that hat is courtesy of Wormy. We have a ghey hat thing going on in TK lol

Sssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh it’s supposed to be on the down-low!
^ haha!
Great work Deb…keep it UP!! ![]()
That Cosgrove workout looks puke-tastic. I experimented with Crossfit three years ago and did a lot of those similarly brutal metcon workouts. It was masochistic fun at first, but I ended up burning myself out big time and had to back right off. It might be good to introduce a few again, though - they are great for torching fat.
Cal I started with just 8 of the moves and this week moved to 10. It’s been great because after doing the 8 moves 3 times last week we could already feel improvement so to make it challenging we added 2 more. It worked. So maybe if you take the approach we did you won’t burn out too quickly.
That Cosgrove metabolic workout is really intense, nice work!
Thanks Blue!
Plan for my 5 day trip to Michigan to see my son graduate on Friday (yay!): First, I am stopping to pick up food to have at my parents’. This has already freaked them out. I said I just want to have the things I’m used to eating there so it’ll be easier for me. I will still eat out with you at dinner and I’ll make good choices but for during the day I need my yogurt and walnuts! Second, I’m going to do ^^^ Cosgrove metabolic work out every day while I’m there. I’ll just consider this a partial deload. Will do my usual squats and deadlifts on my T/Th schedule before I leave. Fly back in on Tuesday and will hit the gym that night and pick up where I left off. What is different for me is actually DOING the work out while out of town (in my past life I always took my “stuff” and never took it out of the suitcase).
I’m very excited to see my son. We were comparing DL #'s via text the other night. He’s a strong guy and he can’t wait to see his new and improved mom. If only we could go DL together! Would be a blast.
Will be interesting to see the 'rents because they are happy for me but sorta jealous at the same time? They are wildly overweight, do zero activity and have tons of prescription meds. I haven’t seen them since September when great grandpa turned 95. I was only 2 months into my training at that time.
Congrats to your son!!
And how cool that you could train together if you wanted… ![]()
Having a solid plan is half the battle Deb - and I’m sure you will inspire those around you. Don’t forget to have fun though!
Thanks MiM! Thanks nlmain. I will have as much fun as is possible with the fam ![]()
Tonight’s work out:
95 lb squats 5 x 5
65 lb seated rows 5 x 5
70 lb lat pulldowns 5 x 8
65 lb push press 5 x 5
pushups 5 x 5
The squats are up 10 lbs from last week. I will stick with this weight for a week or two. The last two sets were rough, but not impossible. Finally pulled all the 65s on the seated rows. They were kicking my butt and I dropped the weight the last two times. Was able to do the push presses too and all 5 sets were a struggle but again, not impossible. My push ups are looking on the awesome side! I revved up the speed this time.
That hat situ is pretty funny ![]()
Excellent progress! Sounds like a solid plan.
Tonight’s work out:
145 lb DL 5x5
55 lb Military Press 5x5
35 lb Bent Over Row 5x8
30 lb DB Press 5x5
Push Ups 5x5
The DL’s were not as tough as last week. Military presses were a bit challenging. 5 lb advance on my bent over rows. Felt strong. DB presses were a struggle again but I pushed through them. Push ups are getting easier!
Deb, you are putting up some impressive numbers! I think it might be time for you to do more than 5 pushups at a time. What about 5 x 6?
