I agree with Tony.
At no time would I ever classify my training as producing pain. There are certain exercises (walking lunges, I’m talking to YOU) that are guaranteed to make me more sore the next day than usual. And I do get DOMS, but nothing bad.

Actually, in this months On Fitness magazine (i should be getting paid by these bitches, 2nd time I mention this mag this week! but its the only one I read…) they talked about good pain vs. bad pain. You guys should check it out - altogether magazine is great, anywho…
Wow! the training with Tony sounds awesome!! I’m super jealous - but i bet it will do you wonders.

Yup, I figured that you were when I saw this blog post earlier today. I am a dedicated reader of Tony.
his description is exactly how the ‘popular,’ trainer at my gym trains her flock of disciples. I can’t compete with that!
My guy had a cult following too MiM. You could tell who we were by our footwear (Jacks). My bar has arrived!!
That bar is wicked cool Deb. I want one… Imagine farmer’s walk with that?
Now THAT is a bar!!!
Yes! Farmers Walks! So many possibilities!
oooh! it’s so pretty and shiny!
ya, but your guy has street cred and is waaay cooler than all the trainers at my gym combined. Well accept for me and maybe Vic the bb’er dude. ![]()
HAHA! You know you’re hardcore when you have your own home equipment. That thing is pretty and shiny! Love it.
Some things tp dp with your toy
heels together with toes point out
heels seperated with toes pointing in
feet a lil beyond shoulder width with the caried toe positions
these are hack squat variations…try one of each
I have a whole kama sutra of hack squats…let me know when you get bored with these
spank
Count you are awesome!! Thanks! Spank back at ya.
Have fun with that bar - I’m envious!
End of week 2 update: I’ve been doing Tony’s programs. I moved my rack pulls up to 145 which is where I left off with my traditional deads before I started with Tony. Might move them up another 10 next week. They certainly didn’t feel impossible. The program Tony has written has excellent variety and I feel good after finishing week 2.
At the same time, I’m having a bit of a freak out because my thighs suddenly don’t look as good…esp inner thighs. Not sure if something I was doing before was hitting them better and now I’m not doing that, or what. Blah. I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end but it’s pissing me off. Plus I have this, you know, birthday tomorrow that puts me +1 over 50. Double blah.
Deb, happy birthday! The alternative to having that birthday is really much worse. ![]()
If your thighs are bothering you, take measurements once a week or so. Make it objective instead of subjective.
Thanks Kimba! I have been measuring them. They are the same, they just don’t look as good. I’m sure this is just my brain screwing with me.
brains love to be screwy. happy b-day Deb and don’t fret the small stuff. focus on your calves and other killer body parts. remind yourself how freakin awesome you feel, let go and move on.
50+1?! Omg Deb, you do not look it. Celebrate your bday, I’ll have a parade and be like “Yeah bitches! I’m over 50 and look hot!”… but that’s just me ![]()
For my inner thighs, I like to do stability ball presses. I put a stability ball between my knees and do about 30 squeezes. Hurts like crazy. And of course there’s plie squats and other goodies. Anywho, brains are like that, I’m sure that it’s all in your head.
Over 50… Bah! You’re joshing me.

My inner thighs blew up when I started squatting wider and pulling sumo. Plus I ate more and put on weight. I love the way they look now. They almost touch. That’s what I would do. Maybe you made a change in technique on something.
