That’s what you get for being fat.
Oh. My. Gosh.
Lends credence (sp?) to the idea that bench with high weight is dangerous, eh?
Ouch is right. I’m not sure what that comment about being fat has to do with anything though?
Matt
Holy Shit… any word on what happened to this dude?
That’s it. I’m benching in a power rack for the rest of my life.
I’m sure he’s fine. After all, he had a bench shirt on and they magically prevent injuries, right?
F**k!
What the hell happened to him?
The bar landed about half way inside his chest cavity!
Blimey.
And the two guys he had spotting him were doing what, exactly, at that moment?
Can I get a spot here? I mean, c’mon!

I would second this.
That lift looked shaky the whole way, and they didn’t look prepared at all.
I know it’s a lot of weight, but they should have been getting ready.
Don’t know but it looks like he broke his right forearm.
That’s what can happen when you’re bloody strong, NOT fat. But a chain is only as strong as the weakest link…
Rockhard and futuredave, those were some VERY ignorant remarks…

Ignorant? Really?
If a suit allows you to lift so much weight that your freakin’ bones snap, how great an idea is it.
Yeah I saaw this the other day … Holy crap that looked painful.
i think his wrist went.
i am sure he may have popped a rib or 2, but it probably looks worse than it is. a big strong guy candeal.
where i train there is a picture of an o lifter trapped under a bar, the bar is behind his neck, his left leg is in front of the bar, and his right had snapped in 2, pointing oyt behind uim.
now that was owch.
it looks bad but he’s prob ok after a bit, it looks like it crushed his chest but I am pretty sure he just lost his arch when the bar hit him. worst I ever had was had to set 275 on my chest and roll it down, long time ago and was lifting solo.

That happened to me one time doing a solo. Just roll your body to one side… presto… no more weight LOL… Very loud, but effective.

Clint Eastwood in “The Outlaw Josey Wales”.
I saw this one a while ago. Still looks painfull. There should be some type of safety device for things like this.

Him being fat had what to do with this injury?
If anything the fat cushioned it, god that hurts watching it!
