Opie & Anthony Are Coming Back!!

Supposedly, David Lee Roth is on his way out, and O&A are on their way (back) in.

“A deal was in the works to dump the ex-Van Halen singer’s ratings-deprived program with shock jocks Greg “Opie” Hughes and Anthony Cumia, according to two people with knowledge of the deal. They spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity pending an official announcement of the agreement next week.”

“XM will now syndicate the program to the stations in New York and six other markets, with three hours of the program airing on the CBS Radio stations, the people familiar with the deal said.”

I’m totally looking forward to this. I was a huge fan of O&A back when it was on 102.7 here in NY. I wasn’t able to follow them to XM, and had to deal with Roth in the morning. To be honest, I don’t think he was “that” bad, but this will be a bajillion times better.

I listen to them everyday on XM. They are so entertaining. Not to mention, Jim Norton is one of the funniest comedians ever. I also love that comedians such as Patrice O’Neal, Bill Burr, Bob Kelly, and even stupid Rich Vos are regulars on the show.

So they are going to sindicate a show that originates as a satellite radio show on FM radio?

Hmmm…interesting. How are they going to deal with the profanity issue? A fifteen second delay? This should be an interesting experiment.

Bwahahahaha.

I’ve loved them since way back in the day…I remember when people used to call in and say, “You guys fuckin suck. Play Led Zeppelin”.

Or back when the biggest celebrity that listened to their show was the guy who was the backup for Grimace in the McDonald’s commercials…

I can’t wait.

Ramon…

Tussle, tussle

I was wondering what they were being mum about this morning. But they may need more than a 15 second delay. hahahaha

All I can say is

WOW

DB

If you liked em on terrestrial radio, you should hear them on XM. Can’t even compare the two. I have no idea how they’d censor the show.
