ok, not as drastic as my subject title, but Opie and Anthony were cancelled this week. Today actually. I’m really upset. Oh well, still got Ron and Fez.
They were cancelled because they broadcast a play-by-play of two people having sex in a church vestabule while a service was going on. Went WAY over the FCC line. They knew it, they did it any way. In my circle, we call that “asking for it.”

Wow, have fun, BK mike. I’m listening to them right now (it’s 20 to 8). Actually brider, they did not give a blow by blow account while the couple was having sex during a service. I was listening to the program. What happened was they got caught by a guard. Then Paul Mercurio started mouthing off and the guard called the cops. That’s what happened. This was called in after the fact. And I don’t know where you got your account, but it wasn’t a prank on the church, it was just one spot on a list of places for the contest, not some hate crime. Not even a big thing as people get caught in there often having sex. It’s just the church has something to make them look victimized and seen in a different light due to recent press, and found their victims. Why else would some stupic prank be in all the major papers and on the news for two days? They’ve had this contest twice before and the cathedral was on the list before. No stink then. In my cirlce, that’s called cover up opportunity.

Anyway, like Bronx Bomber said, O and A are taking a lot more shit than they really deserve on this. That was a great show. I’m gonna miss stalker patty, Norton - it stinks and I don’t like it! Awful!, Jay Mohr, Dice, all the SNL guys… Hopefully they find a loophole. Anthony used to live a few blocks away from me, and used to go to the Beanpost. I wonder if he’ll be back now? lol. Also, I just got finished listening to the end of the ron and fez show on the way home from the yankee game- got tix from A-rod himself- comes in where I work, and gave comps for a 4 games. Sat with all the rangers wives and family. - Me and my girlfriend were the only yankee fans in the section. Was pretty funny. oh, back to my point. Yeah, O and A were mentioned a bit at the end, but I only caught the last 10 minutes. Did they get anymore mentions? I think Eddie- bon jovi fan since day one- trunk was scared to say anything. ferrell was drunk off his ass too.lol. Anyway, gotta hit the sack. Bronx, if you heard the show, what happened?
well, they did and O and A chant in the beginning, but you know management I’m sure want them to keep mentions of them low I’m sure. But on the O and a message board (no, I’m not a loser freak that stalks them), Brother Joe said that they are ok and to not worry. I’m pretty sure they’re in negotiations already. The RonFeZ.net site wants to organize another rally. I told the board they should do it, but make it big, not like when Al wanted to save Psycho Dad on married with children. Besides, all this exposure, do you think they’ll be out for too long? Hell no! And yeah, eddie trunk is pretty lame, but i never cared for him anyway. I can’t wait to hear more stories of norton getting oral treats from trannies. But Jay Mohr? I never found him funny. i don’t know how a person who’s part time funny does comedy full time. Bronx, I always hear about the message board, but where is it? Also, I’m gonna miss the arnold prank calls. That is the funniest shit ever. I downloaded so much from foundry already. About the A-rod thing, I’m the fitness manager at a facility where many of the visiting athletes to NY come to work out. They come to us because we’re low- key, nobody bothers them. You wouldn’t believe the amount of perks I get since I got this job pretty recently. Tickets, autographs etc… The texas rangers come in, the Oakland A’s, orioles, and I’ve heard a lot of other teams come in. Also, we get some football guys in once in a while, and big time for tennis also. I’m not a huge tennis fan, but I used to really be into it, so I don’t know many of the guys now. But last year, Gustavo Keurtin, who was the number one player, came in and I helped with some stuff with his coach. They threw me a few tix for the US open, but I couldn’t go. Yesterday, he came in and is working out here till he’s done with the open. Rangers came in in the afternoon, and their strength coach threw us 4 tix to each game. It’s pretty damn cool to have this job. I’d love to tell you where I’m at, but then everyone and their mother would be over there, and thats exactly what we don’t want. They come to us for privacy.

well, what the hell do you expect? they knew that might happen if they got caught, and now they got caught, so tough shit, deal with it and face the consquences!! besides i wouldn’t feel too bad for Opie and Anthony they have made a lot of money, this incident gives them a ton of publicity, and they’ll be back on the air at some point. As for the couple, they should not be allowed to reproduce, and i feel bad for their kids, if they have any. ya know,i never got Opie and Anthony anyway, they’re just 2 of about 1000 people trying to be just like Howard Stern.
I never said it was a prank or a hate crime – just that these guys HAD to know that they were stepping over the line of acceptability, and decided to do it anyway. Would these people have done it had O and A not published their list of “prize winning locations” for people to have sex? My guess is no.
I agree with you brider. They were over the line and that’s what they do, and it was bound to happen anyway. But your last question is pretty obvious. Of course they would not have done it if it was not on the list. But the cathedral is a pretty famous landmark. There were no complaints from yankee stadium. Would there have been such a big complaint if they had done it in the house Ruth built? Proabably not. There were couples all over the city doing it in many public places. No complaints the last two years. And to bryan, I don’t feel bad for them, I feel bad for me cause now NEW is gonna be a very different place. I’m afraid this will be the last week of Ron and Fez too, just cause WNEW can’t hold up. And how are they trying to be like Stern? Because they use microphones? Yeah, they’re DJ’s who do stupid shit, but does that mean Stern was trying to be IMUS? that’s an assinine statement. They are a hell of a lot funnier than that old decrepit bastard Howard.
