Only Post If You're Hyooooge

So - I just don’t (fully) understand all these people beginning posts with “only post if you’re over X weight” or “don’t post if you’re under X weight”.

I understand not wanting idiots, or people who think they know their stuff but don’t posting but -

  1. You alienate both people under/over your target weight, and their are people that weight “under 200” but know their stuff. That’s a fact. Sometimes they’ve been over that weight, and sometimes they’ve trained with people who are over that weight but themselves prefer to keep under it for whatever reason, or etc. etc. etc…

  2. You fail to realize you’re posting on an open public forum. The beauty of that is ANYONE can post, and that’s also the downside. Regardless of weight, experience, etc. you’re gonna get some dumbass comments. You just have to take everything with a grain of salt because it’s a goddamn online forum. You’ve just gotta hope that people are smart enough to realize that they’re current knowledge isn’t up to par to answer your question.

  3. While the whole idea of more weight = smarter might hold some weight, on the whole it seems kind of ridiculous. They’re are plenty of counterexamples to this.

Comments both welcome & wanted.

Wasn’t there only, like, 1 thread like that?

How to use the internet for dummies.

there’s a lot of bullshit(ers) on this forum nowadays.

would you want to take driving lessons from a blind person?

how about typing lessons from a man with no hands?

so and and so forth.

get my drift big boy?

if someone weights 180lbs (as you say ‘under 200lbs’) i don’t see how they are going to help me get to 250lbs.

last example: onemorerep. dude looks awesome. like freaking awesome. and he knows his shit, no doubt. but do you think his advice is going to be completly applicable to waylander? prob not.

awwww, does the wittle OP feel left out because he can’t share his super secret squirrle tips with us b/c he’s not swole enough?

OH-NINE! lol

Didn’t Dave Tate have a saying on taking in advice? I totally forget what he said but may be someone can fill in the blanks.

V

Yeah, well there’s also some dude on here running around with his dick out looking for some MMF action. Constantly.

lol

And people going on about their massive traps…

Because your trainer isn’t lifting the weights for you? Have you ever heard of the saying those who can, do and those who don’t teach? Maybe the dude under 200 lbs is a genius in the kitchen and with food timing or with technique and program design and has reached his ideal aesthetics or weight while the over 200 lbs dude just knows that squatting and eating gets you bigger legs.

They both might be able to help you reach 250, but one can do it better than the other … just saying it could happen HM, it could happen

Didn’t mean to put down the profession … just illustrating a point … (good) educators are a valuable commodity for the future of our country … good luck in that

Fuck Yeah! It’d probably scare the shit out of his dog though.
bet it would be worth it just explaining things to the traffic cop.

LOL. You could get hit by a fucking meteorite also as you head to the gym this afternoon…but will worrying about this low chance probability help you in any significant way?

Yes, if you are the type of person who walks around thinking guys who want really big muscles should spend their time worrying about what the smallest people have to say about it, I seriously doubt you will ever get all that big yourself.

We sure as hell don’t see anyone like that on this forum who has actually gotten that big. It is ALWAYS the smaller guys crying that little weight lifters could be geniuses in the gym.

Cue 10 page thread about bullshit like this.

There was ONE fucking thread (not 2, not 3, not 50…BUT ONE) made where the guy asked for advice of people over 220lbs and every fucker under 220lbs gets their panties in a wad because of it…even AFTER he apologized for it 5 times.

Why the hell are some of you so pissed that in bodybuilding, progress actually matters?

That’s so wrong (and hilarious) on multiple levels.

I think I may be being misunderstood. I’m not saying the small guy has the best advice. I just think that he should be allowed to give his opinion and not be flamed for it. I think it’s up to the reader to take what he wants from a forum - my opinion. Freedom of speech - america, f**k yeah!

And I’m not referring to any thread in particular. I’ve seen threads like this on this and other forums.
