am i missing anything by not doing seated calf raises? aesthetics wise?
i avoid it since the soleus is lower down yeah? and i thought that more petite ankles would make my gastroc look bigger.
That’s not really a good excuse to not do seated calf raises. From what I understand doing straight legged work and any calf work where knees are bent is the way to go to develop full looking calves. I could use every bit I can, my calves were puny.
Until I incorporated more variations and now they look k.
You’re missing out on actually developing your soleus muscle, which will indeed add to your ‘calf’ size.

Yes you are missing alot first developing your soleus will not affect your joint structure you either have small ankles or you don’t. But relying on small joints to make your muscles appear bigger is faulty thinking and plain lazy put the effort in and build some muscle.
Only training the Gastroc at the expense of the soleus will cause muscle imbalance and invite injury.
A well developed Soleus will push the gastroc out making it appear bigger.
There are other variables but isn’t this enough?
Yes. Very silly to only focus on the gastrocnemius, the most superficial of the lower leg muscles. Both aesthetically and structurally.
yes.
do them.
they are good.
petite ankles make you look
like a puss period.

Yes you are
This is what will happen to you if you don’t do seated calf raises:
just kidding.
Hey guys, is there any way to improvise doing seated calf raises at home without a gym?
Lunges on your tippy toes might do it
i like the seated calf raise machine and i would do it if you promise it wont make the girth of my lower calf the same as my upper calf.
good calves have those two round bits, but mine have one trapezoid. i dont like that
^Nobody gives a fuck if you do them or not.
Do them for your own sake if you feel like it.

sit with one knee on the ground, one knee up and place a heavy dumbbell or some other heavy object on the knee that is up and raise away.
soleus is the brachialis of the lower leg, it will give some depth and height to the shape of your calf, aesthetically speaking
